You are absolutely right, John. The Constitution of the United States has been shredded by every branch of government sworn to uphold, defend and protect it. Unfortunately it began when Congress realized they didn't have to do their Article I job if they delegated the powers Article I vested in them alone. First it was coining of money, then legislation of laws. Now they feel they only have to spend money and investigate the Executive Branch. In fact, the delegation of Congressional power has gone on so long that the Judicial and Executive branches feel empowered to usurp those few powers Congress has not gotten around to delegation. The Courts legislate from the bench and the President rules by fiat from the Resolute Desk by issuing Executive Orders that are outside the scope of the office but are treated as bearing the weight of law. We must return to a Constitutional form of government or we must abolish all government and live as the Israelites in the Book of Judges. We cannot expect the government to uphold the rights delineated in the Amendments when they refuse to follow the orderly path laid out in the Articles.
