I checked the donation system and it seems to be working as designed. When you "vote", you don't lose any coins but we just recorded that you voted with the coin.

Now, if they came here and civilly said that the "bad things" that whites have done in the past should be put on the shoulders of whites living today and had reasons and proportions based in humanistic values and fairness, then I'm confident that it would be allowed to be added to the debate.

Yeah, we have to find a better solution than the form we used for making posts. It has some good features but is somehow not allowing for the browser to spell check text. It's on our short-list. Thanks! Note: spell checking in comments works.

Hi. When I close and reopen my IDW app, the page it opens to is a sign up page, not a sign in page. I go to the three bars upper left corner and select log out. Do you want to log out it asks. No, but yes. So I'm now logged out so I go to log back in with my user name and password.

I just updated the profile bio section to support a very long intro (it'll split it and make a "view more" link). You can post longer form posts anywhere on the site and they'll show up on your profile page.

I'm glad to get negative feedback as it seems like you are genuinely interested in helping. The leveling system is mostly a way to combat spammers so we give our more access as members spend more time on the website. The coin program is recently added as a way that we can crowd source donations to the various IDW speakers. I am personally funding it for now with $50k. I believe in the overall movement that is calling out limits to free speech (that is, an over-encroachment of political correctness by the Left as a means to "win" a debate instead of giving cogent arguments). "cartoon thought bubble" can you elaborate (send a private message please). We are using some fairly standard icons for "comments". Thanks again for your feedback! I'll try to integrate it going forward.

Make sure to get a very strong backend hosting provider and all that other tech infrastructure, because the rest of the interface improvements tend to flow naturally once you have everything you need to support it. More is always better.

Yes, I do remember my high school teacher compelled me to give a speech in class once. But, yes, I'm more afraid of mobs compelling speech than the government as once the mobs get elected, free speech is doomed.

It would be helpful to have the capability to hover and/or right-click on a user's avatar to follow (or unfollow), rather than have to navigate to the user's profile page and click "follow" there. (The extra steps will tend to limit followers, if only because of laziness.)

We're evolving the design a bit every day. My guess is that we'll converge over time. Most of the work was go to get the backend work done, now it's polish mode :)

The fundamental difference here is that we are a non-commercial website and do not want to make money off of sensationalization. I believe the IDW movement is sensational enough. I am also trying to facilitate a grass-roots model for ensuring civility. Phase 2.
