What is life in Eastern Europe like? I want to move to Eastern Europe after all this quarantine BS is over. I've never been there though. I've been to France a long time ago, but that's the only experience with Europe I have. I'm looking at these property prices, and I'm amazed how cheap they are.

30-42k$ suburban property: [uaproperty.com]

10k$ rural property: [uaproperty.com]

If I had some savings, I might've bought the 42k property. If I knew how to grow my own food then I might feel more confident in buying a rural property.

How would you make a permanent residence? Are you formally from there. Are you eastern European nationality? I would love to move there but you can't just establish a residence if you're not a citizen.

I think if you can become a citizen of a Shengen country then you can live in any Shenghen country. Am I wrong?

Try living in your chosen area for at least 3 or 4 months. You could look at places for rent or sale too. Whatever country has their own language but most speak several, eg. German. There are forums for each country.

You cannot lump Eastern Europe together like that. What most people in the US do not understand is that each Europeans country is different. Each its own culture, language(s), cuissine etc. These differences go back centuries, long before the US existed. You also have to realise these countries are small and cheek by jowl (by US standards). In many of them if you travel less than a 100 miles. in the right direction, you can be in a different country, sometimes having passes through a third country.

You need to be more specific and ask about a particular country or ask for a recommendation and the reasons why that country is being recommended.

I'm interested in Ukraine, but I'm open to other countries.

@tenslein Fine, but just be aware of what I said as it applies to all of Europe. You then pays your money and takes your choice.

I'm kinda intrigued with Hungary lately. And I think Ramz is from Hungary, if I'm not mistaken. @RamZPaul "curvycom" Group

Why would Hungary be better than Ukraine or another country? I'm mainly interested in Ukraine for the pretty girls. Also, I'm learning Russian, and Ukrainian is very similar.

@tenslein I'll go back to front: True Hungarian is a very difficult language, but at least I'd have a challenge. Pretty girls are plentiful all over the world including iin Hungary, but that is not a good reason for moving to another country. Hungary's president and current administration is very pro Western Civilization and is openly courting people with Western values. Not accepting uncivilized people from "shithole" countries, etc. You can maybe ask @krunos I think he may live in Ukrane.

@tenslein no sorry, @krunos is in Croatia. But he seems to be very worldly, perhaps he knows something about Ukrane.

@curvycom That is correct Hungarian and Finnish are two very different languages than the rest of the Europe. I'll post a language tree here.

It is also correct that hot girls are everywhere, and porn industry in not the most fun way to be judging a country. And be aware of the mail order bride types.

Hungary politics or Poland politics is more common sense than current day West I would say. West got so "woke" and Marxist that countries which have lived under communism for so long, can smell it a mile away, so they are hostile to it, even if its calls itself West.

Eastern Europe countries do not want tones of migrants, they don't want Marxist pretending to be "climate change tax", "LGBT" or any of that crap. Sadly that is what Western Europe has become, while Eastern Europe at least on political side understands what communism is no matter what the disguise is using now. That just might save then. Western Europe is selling its Western Culture away as if it was a garage sale for crying out loud. Its pathetic.

So I'm not sure How much I would call Eastern Europe , align with present day Western values simply because present day western values are so far to the left its like they are traveling back in history wearing modern rainbow color flags.

It is correct I am from Croatia. Which is less hostile and defiant than Poland and Hungary, but not completely crazy as some of the West countries. I hope it stays that way.

Croatia has a unique set of circumstance. It has a bad economy so migrants only transit, they don't stay here, since they can't get free stuff. And by being in effect a colony of the Vatican and majority white Catholics, there is little reason for unrest on cultural and racial lines, and there is less acceptance of rainbows and all that crap because it has strong catholic tradition which still vales the concept of family.

Corruption is similar to other countries in Eastern Europe and since joining European Union like in most of those countries there was exodus to go work in Western Europe, like Germany, Ireland etc. At least before corona virus.

I am not well versed in present day Ukrainian politics , but I imagine that you can except Soviet influence and a love hate relationship with that past, hating the soviets and sharing Russian attitude towards the Western weakness, ups I mean wokness.

@tenslein See, I knew @KrunoS would have a lot to say on the subject!! Thank you so much KrunoS.

@curvycom Anytime,

@KrunoS

That's the impression I have, also.

Interesting post. Thanks.

@Triumph Thanks. Here is some more addition to this.

Poland Denounces Intersectional Social Justice

In Poland, the existence of a powerful Catholic Church and a large number of independent peasant farmers created an opposition to communist rule that was unique in eastern Europe.

....this will become important later because Poland is kicking out the communists and cultural Marxist (LGBT) today. They know what they see and because they had so much expriance with communism and they have strong presence of Catholic Church and traditional family values they are more resilient and can recognize the treat they still remember, better than some of the western Europe countries or United States that didn't t have the same experience.

“[T]he useful idiots, the leftists who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system, when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. Aim higher. [...] They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed any more. They know too much. Some of them, when they get disillusioned, when they see that Marxist-Leninists come to power—obviously they get offended—they think that they will come to power. That will never happen, of course. They will be lined up against the wall and shot.” ― Yuri Bezmenov

“The difference between communism and socialism is that under socialism central planning ends with a gun in your face, whereas under communism central planning begins with a gun in your face.” ― Kevin D. Williamson, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Socialism

@KrunoS The Polish people don't mess about when someone in politics goes left - as the Mayor of Gdańsk learned.

[politico.eu]

@Triumph Well yes, and no. I mean yes in a sense they don't like lefties, they know what communism is, but it shard to know what really happen for articles on politico.eu because they have their own agendas and don't always do their do diligence. So I'm slightly skeptical of their use of terms who is on what side of politics, including themselves. And off course yes, soon as they recognize communists, no matter how they call themselves there will be serious tension. They know what it is.

@KrunoS I could have probably found a better link on the subject. But apparently, Paweł Adamowicz had portrayed himself as a conservative, then went left and started advocating for immigration into Poland, diversity, gay rights, and other actions which are being pushed by the globalists.

My impression is, he became owned by the globalists.

@Triumph If that was the case than yeah I could see the reason for hostility. He would be in essence selling his country away. In the old days that was called treason and penalty was death. Maybe Poland is still conservative in that way. If he was advocating for all that than he would be the equivalent of Nanci "failed Coup d'état" Pelosi or Elisabeth (I'm Indian) Warren or Sleepy Creepy uncle Biden. They are lucky they are not in Poland or Russia, than.
