I agree with you that it would solve nothing and butt hurt people will just find something else to complain about. I am NOT for renaming this airport. John Wayne is not and never has been a figure of racism or hatred, for goodness sake.
But how do you estimate the cost at millions? I can imagine the cost to be hundreds or thousands. My estimate might not be any better than yours. I'm just not sure how it could come to millions.
The Left intends to re-write history, especially our heroes who represent support of the Constitution. The Taliban, before that Stalin's secret police, the German Brown Shirts, and endless other examples destroyed priceless historical artifacts in the name of their quest for power and control.
