Immigration Stories? When did your people came here?
I know Ramz folks came here on the 2nd boat, but when did yours arrive
My grandpappy saw a draft notice from the Tsar telling him he was now in Mother Russia's army for the next 25 years so he said " that" and scooted for America, met a hot babe and generations later i am shitposting on a computer in the USA
My paternal line is traced back to early 1700’s late 1600’s, Virginia to Carolina Fighting in Indian wars then on to draw lottos for military service for land in what would be Georgia. We lost everything when Sherman burned Georgia. So we went west. I’m eighth generation. My maternal line goes back to Norway just 3 generations ago. I have 2nd and 3rd cousins in Oslo, according to Ancestry dot com.
It's my spouses line, but we just celebrated Landing Day yesterday - the first day a certain line landed in America in the 1600s. Proud to have old stock on both myself and my spouse.
We were 7 generations of carpenters near Aberysthwyth. One of us came over and chose to pronounce our name differently - I suppose to make a statement, but that made it even more unprounceable than Cornish names already seem across the pond.
My grandfather was first generation American, and fired the locomotive between Leadville and Basalt Colorado when he first came from Goodland, Kansas at 13. He learned how to build houses and become a machinist. His son, my father, became a physicist, and I became an engineer.
Names were routinely changed at Ellis Island, if the officer couldn't understand, already figured you couldn't spell, your occupation became your new last name, or your town (Godfather ref but kinda true)

Posted by CourseofEmpireThe vast majority are vaxxed. This can’t be the unvaxxed who are mostly dying. Remember, they are a few months ahead of the Northern hemisphere.
Posted by CourseofEmpireAwesome 😂
Posted by CourseofEmpireWeimar (yes, THAT Weimar) will no longer report numbers of vaxxed people being hospitalized for COVID because the truth might be used for "misinformation." -Lovecraft's Cat
Posted by CourseofEmpireAny cause. This is an amazing vaccination, you are almost invincible if you get it, everyone (except a few little side effects and such)! 😂
