The tax debacle. Explain like I’m 4? Did Trump only pay 750 because he didn’t really have an income in 2016 or is there more to it? Does it have to do with overpaying previous years or doing other things that year to offset taxable income ? Otherwise, what is the big to do about this issue ?

Basically, Trump has losses of nearly $1 billion an early-1990s collapse. The losses generated a tax deduction that could be carried forward for 18 years. He used this provision legally to avoid taxes in years when he did better.
Remember, all his paperwork has been vetted by accountants and lawyers and filed with the IRS. If there is something amiss, it’s on the record and the IRS will act.
Making the returns public won’t change anything, except provide a hostile media with content to sell papers and get ratings.

Oh please, this is such bullshit. I had a (((guy))) that would get me a refund every year, Trump has an army of (((guys))) that said hey, boss, we can give you a refund, net out to zero, or pay a symbolic tax. 750 bucks? sure why not, lol I've spent more for lunch shmoozing with old Chuck over there
