Things brought up more now the farther away it appears.

  1. Slavery- Ended in 1865. Now it is 2020. Ended 155 years ago. Jim Crow laws which were basically the South and not all of America ended in 1964, 56 years ago. Now after bringing it up in School, college, and the media brings it up more often now than ever before. Way after they have been over.

  2. The Holocaust- Ended in 1945 75 years ago. As Ramz noted in 1978 was the first time the term was used. World War 2 was mostly to do with Germany losing much of its land from World War 1 and trying to reclaim it back.

Interestingly enough on the Jim Crow laws it discussed Black plans to fight it mirrored the advice @ramzpaul often gives us now, how you need to form local communities to build a bridge to future success especially in changing the institutions in the future.

"Historian William Chafe has explored the defensive techniques developed inside the African-American community to avoid the worst features of Jim Crow as expressed in the legal system, unbalanced economic power, and intimidation and psychological pressure. Chafe says "protective socialization by blacks themselves" was created inside the community in order to accommodate white-imposed sanctions while subtly encouraging challenges to those sanctions. Known as "walking the tightrope," such efforts at bringing about change were only slightly effective before the 1920s.

However, this did build the foundation for later generations to advance racial equality and de-segregation. Chafe argued that the places essential for change to begin were institutions, particularly black churches, which functioned as centres for community-building and discussion of politics. Additionally, some all-black communities, such as Mound Bayou, Mississippi and Ruthville, Virginia served as sources of pride and inspiration for black society as a whole. Over time, pushback and open defiance of the oppressive existing laws grew, until it reached a boiling point in the aggressive, large-scale activism of the 1950s civil rights movement"

I just wish people could move on. It's silly to dwell in the past. This is coming from someone that would hope in the delorean and go back and live in the 1980s if I could .

Nothing is going to erase the genetic advantage we have except for our genocide.

This line reminds me of what Zman and Ramz say that if you have a group get together and play games, maybe go to church, or get wings and beer together on the first Monday of the Month discuss politics but also do non political things as well. You don't have to make it a named organizaton or official but do it as an informal things.

Yeah I think avoiding most organized groups right now is the safest bet. Those will be the easiest targets to be labeled as hate groups are some sort of -ism, -phobe, or anti-.
