Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I think the GOP puts a lot of pressure on him, they probably forced Banon out. Like: yeah we will vote for your stuff, but Banon is too "radical" he has to go.
He also uses hardliners such as Bolton as leverage, but he ultimately makes his own decision.

How do Trump supporters explain his hiring choices? "To keep his enemies closer"?
Some may reject the premise of the question because they regard Bolton et al. as good guys - as part of the 'rehabilitation' of Trump. After four years I still can't get over how some Campaign Trump supporters like me have switched places with some Never Trumpers who now support President Trump. The Trump who hired their beloved Bolton is their guy now. Not mine.
