This guy managed to experience and put together the story of the modern reactionary movement. No matter your current political or philosophical bent, it's a really well told story that might give you purchase on the cliff that overlooks the cultural circumstance in which we currently exist. This is and example of why it's so important that all voices be allowed to exist in the public space; whether history shows one side of a debate to be correct or flawed, it's VERY damned important that all views be expressed. What's happening in the outlying territories of the social conversation is the one day going to be the archive from which our posterity derive an understanding of their history and heritage. Cancel culture isn't just a disservice in the here and now, but a disservice to the future. Dissident ideas must remain not only a part of the current conversation, but a part of the library of ideas that our descendants can draw on as they evaluate the history of philosophy. Agree or disagree, it's worth a half hour just to get an idea of how one of our current narratives was experienced in real time from a young man who lived it.

We speak out against demonization by group and find ourselves being hissed at by everyone around us.
