To the extent that it's possible please shop local small businesses for your necessities rather than larger vendors. Your neighbors have a hard enough time competing against large corporate retailers when time are fairly normal. Paying a local price for goods rather than a cheaper "efficiency of scale" price at Walmart will do more good for your community that a contribution to an international charity or even some very local charity.
Small businesses are going to suffer real damages during this whole "social distancing" movement, so any help you can give them is a service to your community.

In times like now the relationship itself will become a emergency resource.
By having this resource, you can serve as a resource to your more personally important relations.
By focusing on how you can serve your local community by MAKING IT LOCAL, you can in turn make it PERSONAL, and thereby make of yourself a service provider to those most directly important to you.
