Ironically in the 70's the hippies had the big plan of back to the land and nature. How did that work out? The goal was to DECENTRALIZE, become individuals and independent. During the WWII era 70% of Americans still lived on farms. The youth of the 70's had already lost the ability or want to move back to the land and decentralize. Maybe this new trend will meet a similar fate, but then again as I said we are partly there already. A number of citizens are decentralizing now. I see us literally as the 50 states of the future, no longer the United States, but of land areas of North America "doing their own thing". Rural Oregon today wants to separate from nut case Portland. Good or Bad?

That's a lot to think about, having grown up on the farm in the 70's, and desperately wanting to get back to it. "The Simpler Life". I worry about young people today who hardly ever leave their dwelling, and seem content with it. But the rural areas of states wanting to succeed from the insanity which rule the cities, that is a good thing.
