Here's an interesting side bar. After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their troop ships and carriers directly to California to finish what they started. The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not be able to stop a massive invasion until they reached the Mississippi River. Remember, we had a 2 million man army and war ships in other localities, so why did they not invade?

After the war, the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were asked that question. Their answer....they know that almost every home had guns and the Americans knew how to use them.

The world's largest army ... America 's hunters! I had never thought about this....
A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:
There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin . Allow me to restate that number. Over the last several months, Wisconsin ’s hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.
More men under arms than in Iran . More than in France and Germany combined. These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.
That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan 's 700,000 hunters, All of whom have now returned home.
Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that. The hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. The number of Hunters in the state of Texas would be the largest standing army in the world by it's self.
The point?
America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.
Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security. That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Forearmed is forewarned. Not too many ILLEGALS out running in the woods? More hunters close to the Quebec border would save Canadians from the continuing invasion.

Excellent post. I've advocated for the government to issue 3 guns to every adult in America. One handgun, one shotgun, one rifle. No gun laws. No prohibitions for felons. Except for personal grudges between two parties (in which the desire to kill another would happen with ANY object as a weapon) our society would be MUCH more peaceful and polite.

Consider that the SNP in Scotland has gone so far as to require the registration of airsoft "weapons". That one must be part of a Historical training/recreation group to own HEMA "weapons". That there is a serious push in the UK by the political class to force the registration of all cooking and chef knives and require biannual course work and safety classes to own them in your home.

So folks you need to push back on all these attempts to restrict any part of the second amendment. That should include filling charges against any and elected officials who with intent attempt to subvert the Constitutional laws of the US. They need to be tried and properly sentenced. Their ability to operate in the public sphere removed from them. Currently we are working towards moving back to the US. We will be supporting local politics there even more so then we do here. As that is the only way to insure a government that is responsive and responsible to the public and not just those special interest groups that wish to push a global agenda.
