I'm guilty of not viewing the videos and just read the article. I wasn't aware of Alex Jones being the highlight...not that I dislike him, I just find him to be a bit too dramatic. The writer was spot on when it related to Pelosi and the other parties opposed to Trump and I certainly wouldn't put anything past Antifa and the people behind them. The thought of them doing harm and putting the blame on the Trump supporters is just daunting. What a mess....

Jones serves a useful function in the political discourse: he says things, takes positions and makes accusations that the more refined among us would not stoop to advocate. But in our heart of hearts, we’re glad someone is putting the ideas out there. Sure, no one’s going to start ranting about the international bankers, or the Bilderburgs or the Illuminati, at Thanksgiving dinner (unless you’re THAT guy); but who doesn’t secretly suspect that all that wealth and power can’t help but lead to a level of control and manipulation that is too vast to imagine: so we just don’t imagine it. Jones does the imagining for us and allows us the vicarious pleasure of indulging those thoughts, while keeping a safe enough distance that we can “”Tut, tut” about extreme views.
But if he was out there with a megaphone advising everyone to become shepherds or something similarly stupid, no one would care. In an environment where contrary thought is already having a hard time gaining a platform, the attack on Jones has been particularly heavy-handed. Maybe we should judge the man by his enemies.
