I'll say it again, especiallysince Trump is essentially confirming it...Trump would rather see a civil war than resign.
Think about it...if dems are to be successful in removing him, they'll need the support of the Republican Senate, which would take pretty incontrovertible evidence. So for civil war 2, it would require that he would not be willing to resign in a situation the way Nixon did, knowing that the Republican Senate would convict and that resignation would be the ONLY way to avoid conviction at that point.
He's about him, not the US. And he's letting you know that very clearly! 'I won't resign for the benefit of my country, I'd rather see dead Americans at Americans' hands.'
I'm sure he'd never say that, but that would be his thought process.

To Pastor Jeffress: I said it then, Donald Trump's election created a fracture from which there will be no return. It revealed to me that the empathy of members of my extended family who I had thought were among the most morally strong Christians only extended to white people. They actually wished harm on people who didn't look or behave in a certain way. It immediately returned us to the battleground of the civil rights era. It proved correct everyone calling the right racist. The question isn't whether there is a fracture--it is whether it will become an earthquake and how soon. Trump seems eager to accelerate that outcome for his own benefit.
As for impeachment, there are at least a dozen clear cut violations of the law and about a dozen more that aren't as clear cut. No need even to revisit the events of 2016 to do it.
