US President Donald Trump has cancelled a state visit to Denmark after the nation's prime minister said Greenland was not for sale to the US.

The fact that some of Trump’s smartest moves are interpreted as jokes always exposes the bias of the media and the emotionalism of the public.
Trump’s shrewd overtures on Greenland are a timely, strategic warning to other interested countries — among them China, Russia, the UK, Canada and some Scandinavian nations — to keep their hands off the island. Denmark is a close NATO ally, and the US already has an Arctic airbase in Greenland. Trump has not cancelled his scheduled September visit to Denmark, although it may be postponed.
Think the idea of Greenland as a US territory would be crazy? Try living with a Greenland owned by China or Russia.
