The value of money v the value of produce...
This is an important topic that DesiresNoDesires has expressed great concern about. A question to him and everyone: Are we disconnected in a bad way from the value of our efforts, and is money/currency disconnected from actual value?

It is an illusion fostered by central banks and backed only by the "trust" in the issuing government. The reason, the sole reason, the US dollar is the default currency of the globe is the faith in the a) The US military power b) The stability and size of the US economy.
- Our "efforts" have no intrinsic value. It is what our efforts produce and the desire or need of others for that product/service that creates the perceived value in relation to what others produce.

Money has no value without produce or goods to give it value. the hording of money only causes inflation which hurts the poor. If I have a dollar it is the same as 1/3 gallon of gas or a box of granola bars from the dollar store. I would have gotten that dollar by trading my time to add value to something. Welfare has raised a generation of people that think that money has value in itself, when in reality that money got it's value from another person's effort or work.

I suppose money could become worthless, as in Venezuela, and therefore be disconnected from value. That’s certainly happening, but not in the US or Europe. Or perhaps people could think their efforts are undervalued because they deserve more money than they are receiving for their work. But in that case all they need to do is change jobs or employers to test the truth of that belief. Love it or hate it, the market doesn’t lie about that.
But let me add that I personally find value in my work, in the form of satisfaction for a job well done, and the knowledge that if my work is not valued I can and will move on to something different and perhaps better. So, value comes in many guises.

Just about an hour ago I proposed that a friend find a hobby which she could eventually make profitable, rather than a 2nd job. Her response "I need the money though", I would argue that she needs necessities which we have been conditioned to obtain through the means of "money". This perception is a preception, which I guess google doesnt consider as being a word. So deception I suppose
@DesireNoDesires, If you’re envisioning a barter economy then good on you! Such economies are built on local cooperation and networking. By their nature they tend to foster trust among individuals and strengthen communities.
@GaryWitt It's the most logical way of living I would think. Gold and silver, okay they're shiny...but how were so many naive enough to give in to it's temptations...? Oh yes, once Eve was convinced the apple was good, Adam lost all sense of logic.
It will result in one very happy individual...after the majority partake in a violent rat race, chasing the flow of currency as it transcends into digital encryption. .as the masses began to understand what has just taken place, then is when they will remember the value of their once sacred produce. By then it will already be to late, Bezo's proudly taking his place at the thrown along side his Queen Alexa..GAME OVER
