Jesus compared the church to leaven and to salt; both invisible and both affecting the whole loaf. That's how it's working today and that's how it has worked through history. Emperors marched their armies and built their arches while the church worked invisibly, transforming the whole empire.
His church is still working today. Not because we believe in Him, but through His power and for His purposes.
