It was not very clear, but what was said about feminism was that it has move women from a protected place to the disposable category rite along side of men. The thought that anyone is disposable should be questioned. This has always been the attitude of of the elite of any society that has a cast system but should have no place in today's world.

I actually don't think the roles are a bad way to go. Yep, I'm saying it's okay that men do the dangerous work, stand between the family and harm, protect--even provide. It's okay that men are 'disposable'. I think we choose that position, and I think it makes sense that we choose it. It's an honorable sacrifice that defines us and gives us meaning.

What went wrong was with how women starting taking the privilege of their role for granted and started seeing it only as oppression. What does that sound like? EXACTLY! Women did the same thing men did and took men for granted! Grievance is too often so soaked in blame, nobody spends time thinking through all of the important elements.

The problem was society needed to change. The problem was NOT men. And, what feminists lost in their fight for change was that they were just as guilty for the way society was designed and run as men were. Who socialized both boys and girls? Even teachers are women, on average. We set up a society that actually worked in the context for which it was built. But, we needed to evolve, and we don't like change. We hide from it, we freak out, we fight it, we get ourselves all pumped up for battle, and we blow stuff up. Men didn't, as a group, cosponsor the needed change. It set up an adversarial situation, and women took up the task. Good for them to lead the way forward. Right thing to do, clumsy and somewhat ill-considered way to do it. People are imperfect. We always approach perfect ideals imperfectly. We're sloppy--don't seem to be able to change that.

Anyway, in this arguably post-feminist stage, it would be most helpful if everyone paused to assess where we are and what led us here. Learn from the mistakes we all made and grow. The woman in the video has her eyes wide open and understands there are many layers to human experience. It always seems like the warriors never get that. They always reduce everything to the us/them binary--easier, I guess.
