I see Putin exactly the same way I see Trump, or Reagan, or.....Roosevelt. They put their country FIRST and stood/stand by it. Because we have geopolitical differences doesn't mean I can't respect Putin's leadership. Is it corrupt and deadly? Sure, but EVERY solid leader of ANY country right now, can/and probably is, guilty.

My stand is that every person has exactly the same rights (and responsibilities) that I claim for myself.

If people think I support Putin because of the above, so be it. I'd rather support MY President, but I stand aside at this time on that....

Putin is more similar to Roosevelt in terms of states craft and historic thinking, than Trump or Reagan were, because sadly for everyone American leadership has gotten worse and worse in standards over the years. After all both Trump and Reagan went from show business into politics, while Roosevelt and Putin did not. This is reflected in their policies and rhetoric.

Reagan was a mix bag of making some good and some very bad decisions during his career and same could be said for Putin , but I think Reagan was better prepared for the position of president than Trump was, who almost by accident found himself at the right time in the wrong place.

Trump made endless number of mistakes in his policies , its staggering when you look back on it, but he did several things that were extremely important. He shook up the stale corrupt system run by various parties that care nothing of nations, the globalists. He forced them to come out of the shadows into lime light for everyone to see. And unavailingly he bought time to others , including Russia to wiggle themselves out of the boot of US hegemony , just enough to start fortifying. In the long run this is best for everyone but the globalists and their cronies.

What thing that has been a persistent problem for America and by extension of US dollar much of the world is the ever more growing dept and inflation because of endless money printing for the elites to finance their globalists projects.

Under Reagan this was done but it was continued and accelerated under every American president and got exponentially worse, Trump was no exception. Comparatively speaking Putin understood that his oil and gas and other commodities are more powerful than ones and zeros FED mouse clicks to create trillions out of thin air for whatever globalist project it needs to. And this is proving to be so decisive that the balance of power is shifting globally and instead of new world order run by globalists as single global government, we are going to old world order, of east vs west, but this time it is west that is in decline and east that is on the rise.

This is bigger than cold war or end of cold war, for world affairs. This is up there with WWII level changes.

I'm afraid that western elites have fortified themselves so heavily that they will continue to persecute dissidents and turn more and more totalitarian as long as they can print money out of thin air. Once the printing machine runs out of proverbial ink, that regime will not survive it, because they depend on it too much for everything.

All the military funding, all the bribes, regime changes, debt and disaster capitalism, green stuff they push , social programs, systemic corruption, all is funded by worthless fiat that FED creates out of thin air. You take that golden goose that lays those golden eggs and this regime has nothing else to barging with people and other countries. And they will collapse.

What replaces that regime , its hard to say. Could be better could be even worse, but this regime will not survive. They are so ideologically driven that they are blind to the fact that they are killing the host that they depend on to live.

@FuzzyMarineVet I imagine because the father of Theodore Roosevelt, Jr the first is less known, than Theodore Roosevelt, Jr himself, so his son than becomes the Jr. even if technically he is the third in line. I think its just easier for people to see him as son of a great president, than remember the roman numerals. And probably once it catches on, no one thinks of numerals anymore.

@Krunoslav I recall that George Smith Patton, Jr. was actually the third of that name in the Virginia Patton Clan, but his father, George Smith Patton, II, appended the Junior to the grandson of George Smith Patton, I. So it does get extremely confusing.

Well that's my point. World in not as it was in the 1990's and Americans better start paying attention to the rest of the world, because average American is so lost in the new world, its not even funny. That's because you lack understanding of Russian history and global history as well, especially from perspective that is not American centric. Putin has done more for Russia and more for the changes in the world on global level than Roosevelt did. As for the KGB, I guess I should stick to low expectations and don't expect you to look into what that really meant in practice. He was a layer trained by an arm of KGB in a time when that was practically the only place where you can get training. He was stationed in East Germany, speaks German, he was not a field agent, in fact he was not agent at all, he was administrator and unlike those that were taking advantage of that position, like many, he remained uncorrupted. Before you ask, the reason why he stayed in office for so long is because of the Soviet Union history of Russia that he knows well enough. If he steps down with no suitable replacement, he would be killed and Russia pillaged. When he wanted to quite, NATO moved on Ukraine, hence he could not leave country without protection and stability from NATO infiltration or they would make sure he is eliminated.

Furthermore, you should read his speeches and compare it to historic events that he either warned about, predicted or was involved in. Than you might understand that Russian man is not that bad. And historically and geopolitically is a more significant figure than Roosevelt. I don't speak ill of Roosevelt here, but I am trying to point out that world is not America. World is much bigger place and perhaps after the fall of American Empire that is already in process, some Americans will start to pay attention.

That we are currently in steep decline is not in doubt. The next several months are crucial.

And the whole Ukraine thing never had to happen. And no, I'm not blaming Russia---or even Putin.

New York Times is more about domestic issues, but the same thing. Politico, Bloomberg, The Atlantic, same thing. Even bunch of outlets on the so called conservative side like RedState, that is owned by the Salem Media Group, a conservative media company, Additionally, Salem owns conservative websites Townhall.com, RedState, Hot Air, and PJ Media, as well as Twitter aggregator Twitchy. And they all speak with one voice to targeted audience. Domestically they are pro trump usually , anti democrats, but forign policy is classical anti Russia story. So one must be careful.
