More than ever before, we live in a world of lies. There is a common claim that “truth is relative” and “your truth isn’t my truth”, etc... We see that politicians make promises just to get elected then, after getting elected, everybody can see that they were lying. The news media we used to trust has proven themselves to be liars and incapable of truth; all together unworthy of our trust. Social media censors truth and only allows official narratives (lies) to be posted. Society tells us that a man can be a woman, riots that include burning down entire sections of cities and threatening the lives of groups of people are “mostly peaceful” while peaceful protesters who are let into “the people’s house” by security guards and police are somehow trying to overthrow a sitting government. The evidence goes on and on, but one thing is clear: the US and even the world as a whole is in a state of turmoil ruled by Lies and Liars.
What can we do in such times as these? Dr Jeremiah suggests a 3 step process (which is scripturally sound).
- Tell The Truth
- Test The Truth (what others call the truth)
- Teach The Truth
Those of us who read God’s words as revealed in the Bible have access to THE TRUTH. We can still be deceived by the “father of all lies”, but as we fill our minds with more of His words those lies are exposed and we can be steady in a world that is tossed around by every imaginable lie.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Like a lot of ideas that get popularized the idea that truth is relative doesn't mean what most people think it does. Truth is an abstraction. It's a social construct. If you hear someone say it's a scientific truth you know they they haven't given truth a lot of thought. Science deals with physical reality but truth is in the realm of abstract reality. In dealing with physical reality all observations are approximate. It's only with abstract reality characterized by language that absolutes exist. You can build a model of physical reality using an abstract language such as math but the only thing absolute about it is the internal logic of the language. Some models of course are such close approximations that as a practical matter they are "true". But technically the model is simply factually accurate to all known observations.
Where it gets tricky is that not everyone uses the same language. More precisely not everyone ostensibly using the same language will agree on definitions. If the definitions change the internal logic changes. Obviously two opposing absolute truths can't exist in the same system but can only be relative truth in relationship to some internal logic. These raises the important difference between logic and observable realty. If logic contradicts observation most likely there is a problem with the system the logic is contained in.
I like to say there are no non trivial absolute truths. Truths that most people would agree on. By trivial I don't mean simple. I mean once something is " known " it's trivial to point it out. Still they are absolute only in the linguistic sense of internal logic. For example the truth statement that everyone dies is an absolute truth. No reasonable person would dispute the definition of dies. However within the logic of some religions and the definitions they use an alternative truth that people may live forever exists. Someone may argue that the system of logic doesn't reflect physical reality but there in lies the problem with truths. Your truths are always relative to your belief system that you have assigned truths to.

Yes. I understand your perspective. I remember the concepts in college philosophy courses. Some of what you said is “true” albeit irrelevant. One thing remains truth is still truth, no matter how we feel about it.
I don’t clam to be the holder of all truth, but I try not to be so arrogant as to believe that if I can build a strong enough argument for something and win that argument, it will turn “my truth” into actual absolute truth.
There is one truth that we can all possess if we choose to. That truth created out of nothing everything that exists. His name is Jesus. He reveals Himself to everyone who truly seeks Him. May God bless your search for Truth.
You can't teach ethics, they are learned in your family.
