21.09.08.1005W DOES GOD EXIST?

Starting this post, that’s just as likely to never be finished, as a result of contemplation as to what approach to take knowing full well that no approach will ever the adequate to the goats among us?

TACK #1 At the outset, and to be clear, FAITH supersedes any rational deductions one may use to prove or even disprove the existence of GOD What I’m saying is that FAITH is far and away superior to any rationalizations – IT’S BETTER!

TACK #2 I particularly liked the response I recently heard again from Professor Peterson who answers the question of whether he believed in the existence of GOD with his same response that he lives his life as though GOD exists. That seem a rather coy way of actually saying YES without preaching his values to others with his stamp of approval? In short, FAITH is not transferable, not even from a psychologist – in which case it wouldn’t be faith at all!

TACK #3 Or I could take the tack of WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? A tack I suspect very popular among politicians?

TACK #4 And yet another, and even more important, tack could be to simply ask yourself what the world of mankind would be like completely devoid of any concept of GOD? Perhaps this is the purpose of the Biblical account of Sodom & Gomorrah – to give us such an idea?

TACK #5 And then we have the popular tack of the mentally disturbed, that the universe along with any life forms are pure happenchance (a fluke) somehow. We couldn’t say a fluke (happenchance) of nature because nature too would be part of the same fluke? Or are we to think existence is a happenchance (fluke) within a fluke within another fluke – that endless?

TACK #6 Then there’s the rationalization that GOD does exist! Oh yes, there’s plenty of evidences the HE does exist you know? What evidence you may ask? The evidence that HE exists is the odds against HIM existing! Let me put it this way. The chances that GOD doesn’t exist are astronomically greater than you winning the lottery every single day for the rest of your life. I just can’t see any normal rational person wanting to bet against those odds.

PERSONALLY: Only Tack #1 tempered by Tack #2 has a chance of sailing through all the storms & fog banks of life & making it to home port at all! But that choice of what course to take is always each individuals choice alone to make.

PS. Faith isn’t transferable, but if your going to play the odds, the odds of GOD not existing would seem proof that HE does exist? It’s like 6 horses at the gate, and you know that horses 3-6 will never finish at all – which horse are you going to bet on?
