I have been having some interesting discussions with members on this channel about such subjects as evolution , church and state and so forth. Thank you all for your input. Lets just say we agree to disagree (at least I agree to disagree, I don't know about them.). One thing I keep getting over and over is how some “eminent scholar” or “devout christian theologian “ wrote this or that and I'm supposed to accept that as some kind of ironclad proof. Sorry, hard pass.
Don't get me wrong I have a lot of respect for a truly educated person but I have found that some of the most highly educated people are the most woefully lacking in common sense. This has always been true throughout history but even more so in this age of woke Academia.
The apostle Paul wrote in I Corinthians, Where is the wise man, where is the scribe, where is the debater of this age? Has God not made foolish the wisdom of men? “For the Jews ask for a sign and the Greeks speak of wisdom but we preach Christ crucified to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Gentiles foolishness but to those who are called both Jews and Greeks the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
This Paul was no ignorant bumpkin. As both a Jew and a Roman citizen he had access to the finest education that both Rome and Judaism had to offer. And it made him proud, arrogant and evil until God struck him blind and humbled him. Then he became the greatest Apostle the world has ever seen.
Education when combined with common sense and humility before God can be the greatest combination in the world but education alone is often worse than useless.
