Really, he was elected to do a job!!! The president does not "appoint SCOTUS" he submits nominations!!!

Mine was a non-partisan comment, made with full awareness that the president submits nominees, which are accepted or rejected by the senate.
After the inauguration, the submissions of POTUS are more likely to be supported and less divisive.

Two things annoy me about the GOP "urgency" to replace RBG:
- It advertises lack of confidence in the election outcome.
- It is a blatantly partisan advocacy, and is likely to cause the loss of centrist votes AND possibly the election itself.

Part of the job of President of the USA is to submit names to congress, for consideration, for a seat on the highest court in the land!!!

I only stated how the Constitution lays out how these things happen!!! If that is extrapolation, we can only hope it continues!!!
