The race problem has not always been with us in fact it did not really begin until the late 1800, shortly after the publishing of “ On the Origin of Species ”, published on 24 November 1859. ( [wayoflife.org] ) Francis Galton was the first to take this form of taught and start what became the Eugenics Movement. “eugenics” (meaning “good breeding” ) and defined it as “the study of all agencies under social control which can improve or impair the racial quality of future generations.” Sir Julian Sorell Huxley took these ideas and published books and pamphlets promoting the eugenics ideals ( [julianhuxleyeugenics.blogspot.com] )the eugenics movement was behind the start of many forced sterilization programs that were started in the early 1900”s. This legacy of race based discrimination is still with us today, if you want to get rid of systemic racism then you need to remove the foundation of it, Darwin, Huxley,and Eugenics.

Chattel slavery is the type of slavery where human beings are considered to be property and are bought and sold as such. It grievously contradicted Christian principles. The consequence was that the advocates for the system had to conclude, "either the slaves are not human or we are not Christian." Since they, by and large, insisted that they were Christian, the only conclusion could be that the slaves were not human. That has profoundly evil consequences because it is a profoundly evil lie. The longer was the lie defended the more was the damage done.
If evil is a spiritual problem (I believe it is) then it cannot be stable. It will either be defeated, or sink deeper into a greater evil. Treating humans as property is evil. It either stops or it gets worse. It cannot stay the same. Western slavery eventually ended as a consequence of the spiritual perseverance of a Christian named William Wilberforce and 600000 dead Americans.
@cepstralspike Yes - well stated. "Evil is a spiritual problem" - to that I will say if so then it is a condition of a corrupted spirit manifested in obviously ugly ways - slavery, abortion, war...
