Brilliant discussion on the folly of so-called 'Rape culture'!
Most of the contributors at 'Spiked' are honest and pragmatic.

I'm guilty of not watching it too 🙂

I believe there is a rape culture, just as their is a culture of women "stealing" resources from men. Men are predisposed to be sexually aggressive, if they were not many of us would not be here. What I'm saying is to some extent culture follows instinct.

Women love to flirt and be exhibitionists, I suspect that has something to do with the drag queen phenomenon. Sexual pleasure without the risks associated with copulation. Take high heels an red lipstick for example. They are clearly sexual advertising. I'm not trying to excuse rape. Nor denigrate flirting, I'm only suggesting that emotions or instincts cannot at once be the problem and the solution. Believing women is really just a way of saying we have to cater to female instincts. Females naturally form alliances to defend against male aggression. It is perfectly reasonable for our natural habitat but terrible for the environment we now inhabit. Innocent until proven guilty is an evolved response to the complexity of civilized life, there is nothing fair about it. If we hold to the principal of innocent until proven guilty rape victims will often get the short end of the stick. You have to decide if you want to live in an instinctual environment or a civilized environment.

Sorry, if you're so too lazy to hear the arguments, you don't get to rebut them.
Intellectual cowardice, at it's apex.

@AdrianRainbow

It is a topic that has been cover ad nauseam. You should appreciate the precious time people have given you, asking for more is kind of ungrateful.

If you hang around the kind of people who habitually take advantage, try not to be surprised when both sides of these injustices happen to you.

is it a dangerous myth? I don't know go ask Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, members of the 2006 Duke LaCrosse team, Brett Kavanaugh...go ask young men on college campus who are trying to navigate the "hook up culture" with the "rape culture" simultaneously pulling them in opposite directions...jus sayn'

You watched that very quickly!
It's an hour long, and I only posted it 5 mins ago.

Yes, yes it is a dangerous myth.

@AdrianRainbow LOL! caught me! LOL I'll check it out later but I don't need a video to tell me what I already know based upon the phrasing of your question...LOL

It would be intellectual dishonesty to dismiss the arguments without even hearing them.

@AdrianRainbow it asks a direct question: "is rape culture a dangerous myth?"

I responded directly to that question. Why would it be necessary to sit through a video that obviously is going to present an argument to that question when I directly present my own argument to the question without having to sit through a lengthy video.

In fact you could have simply presented the question in a post without posting a link to the video - with the question up front like that the video is superfluous.

It seems to me that you are being intellectually lazy - rather than presenting the question rhetorically and formulating your own opinion on it you attempt to let a video speak for you. LOL

Try reading my OP again, I never asked any questions at all, your reading comprehension is appalling.
Almost as appalling as your intellectual dishonesty.

@AdrianRainbow that's my point - you don't offer any ideas or opinions of your own in your own post. You merely post a video stating that the site (Spiked) who published the video is "mostly honest and pragmatic. Which really has nothing to do with the matter of "rape culture" iteslf. So, is the point of your post that Spiked is honest and pragmatic or is your post about the illegitimacy of the rape culture? Which is it?
Here are some pragmatic questions for you:
What is the point of your post
Do you even care about rape culture
Are you really only interested in presenting Spiked as an honest and pragmatic site
Do you ever have an opinion of your own (even on your own postings)
Or do you simply scrounge up someone elses content and link here on IDW
Why are you here if you don't even have the impetus to offer your own ideas
Why are you nonplussed by my comment on rape culture
Would you rather I give an opinion on Spiked as a news and information source

So there you go...come with something to say about rape culture that comes from your own mind instead of proverbially pointing to someone elses content and pretending to be intellectually engaged yourself. You aren't.
