My prediction was 10-20 years. regardless of who is "responsible" (hint: It's all of us), the separations on basic concepts may have gotten too far apart. It's sad to see such a great "experiment" crashing with such furious force.
In many ways, I'm curious to see where military and paramilitary end up in this, and ex-military and ex-paramilitary. Hope we never have to find out.

It is sad, but maybe the country as a whole, if it stops being a whole. Have Texas seceded, of course they would probably get most of the center of the country to join them, the east coast can have their left wing nation, the west cost theirs. What Illinois and Colorado and Minnesota do is beyond me, but they have enough people to survive. New Mexico would probably just join Old Mexico and make huge money trafficking drugs and small children for the west and east coasts, so I think most of us would be happier. How we divide up the national debt? That will be a messy business.

I like having my tax dollars to go to what I want them to go to... so if the Dems want to give illegals more benefits then veterans they can pay for it.... let my tax dollars go to vets. As a citizen you decide what special interests you wNt to fund. I don’t see the left and right being able to compromise at this point...
@MommaDaggs whylet govt do it. Keep your money and give it to organizations you support to do the things you want done. I guess I don't trust government at all.

I always take polls with a grain of salt, especially when no information is given about who was really answering the questions. This one seemed very lacking in a real cross section of our society. Not only does none of this mention all the antifa violence when discussing the incivility of poitical discourse, they have this line, "Independents, however, placed the blame on social media and President Donald Trump." My personal experience with independence, myself included, is that for being yet another republican Donald Trump has actually been a bit of fresh, honest air in politics. Even when we do not necessarily agree with his tweets we still find it refreshing that someone is honest, and not cow towing to the PC culture crap.
As for civil war, I do believe we are just a few antifa attacks, and tyrannical laws away from a real fight in the streets. Whether it escalates into a full civil war, can be debated, but the more people are attacked by idiots like antifa, while the police are on stand down orders and just watch, or only arrest people defending themselves things will get far more violent. Martial law will be inacted in places, if not nationally, and that will be the deciding moment. I fear far too many citizens are so afraid of a real fight we might not actually have a civil war. Secession may be tried again, if that happens I will likely move to a state doing so, if it is the right state. If California made that move, I would gladly just waive good bye.

The war is ongoing on social media. The ridicule and harassment daily from the democrats, Hollywood, athletes,and MSM for our standing president is a war. There have been threats, false accusations and one senator shot. Then there was Kavanaugh, an outstanding gentleman who’s reputation was destroyed due to lies. Can this be called a war of words, a civilized or maybe an uncivilized war? IDK... but this is a war.
@FEWI With Max Waters calling for democrats to get in the face of any administration people they see in public, to confront all Trump supporters, as well as other high profile democrats going all the way back to O-bomb-a's time in office calling for actual physical assaults they are really pushing for things to get physically violent. I can not find it now but when O-bomb-a was making his second run for office he was at some event with an AFL-CIO official who promised his people would "get bloody" to make sure O-bomb-a won again. SO all the calls for violence now is nothing new. I made one post of how I think antifa will get far more violent during this second Trump run for office, and I expect they will not find such docile victims this time round. People are really getting sick of the hypocrisy, and the violence from that side being so readily over looked.

@purdyday The Proud Boys, and Patriot Prayer started removing masks off antif thugs at their rallies in Portland, and making sure they got a good full image of the face on video. When they started doing this antifa got a bit less hostile at their counter protests. Then the idiot mayor of Portland came out denouncing Proud Boys, and Patriot Prayer while casting antifa as a some kind of folk heroes being picked on. Sad.
