It's a fear mongering, because fear is a powerfull weapon! Michael Knowles made a good point when he said that climate change is scientists issue, not politicians and 12 yrs old kids! Every Year is a fkn temperature peak in UK according to the media! Biggest in the decade! Biggest in the century! Biggest ever... Meanwhile astronomers say about increased Sun activity. So who to believe little kid or people who are really into it!

Do you remember, Luke, when you were child, how frustrating it was to have your ideas, thoughts or feelings brushed off by your teachers, parents or any grownups? Get told not to be silly - conversation over? I do. Grownups forget that once they were children themselves. Children have their own thoughts and their own feelings; no matter how childish, naive, immature, etc., they are still thoughts and they are still feelings. Children need to be listened to and made aware that there are some things that they haven't thought through (just like you say "sell your car or you are going to die in the next 12 years" which doesn't make sense, right?) so that they will be wiser. Listen to them and guide them by all means, but don't just dismiss their views.
I'm waiting for someone, preferably another 16-year-old, to challenge Greta (I'm assuming that not all teens agree with her) so that they have a proper debate on climate change. I am a skeptic but not a denier, so I have no problem with people debating on climate change. Climate change needs to be debated among young people. I expect any 16-year-olds to take responsibilities for and accept the consequences of their own actions. I presume that Great knows what she's doing, virtue-signaling if you will, so she shall suffer the consequences of her own actions. I believe that her passion and beliefs are genuine. Unfortunately, she is wrapped up in them so much that she fails to understand how her actions are impacting on young minds. No one with a sane mind would tell children that they are going to die in a matter of years. There are so many children and young people already suffering depression. Why tell them such a thing? It's cruel.
Unfortunately, science is politicised nowadays, in my opinion. If anyone tells me to listen to climate scientists, I'll have to ask "Which side? Believers or skeptics?" Apparently, when data don't fit their narrative, they just change the data - both sides are just as bad each other.
By the way, I agree with you about fear-mongering. Fear is a powerful political tool. Fear sells. There is certainly manufacturing of Greta Thunberg going on.

@LukeGP To be honest, I didn't watch the video, but I assumed it's commenting on Michael Knowles's comments about Greta Thunberg. Knowles said Thunberg was mentally ill and being exploited by leftists. I think it's time that we consider whether the right is guilty of the same exploitation of Jordan Peterson.
