2306011700Th LIBERTY – WHAT IS IT?
We’re facing a dilemma of when freedoms conflict with one another. The so called self-righteous woke argue that you have no right to speak this or that on your mind as it offends someone somewhere. But such censorship, self or otherwise, prohibits your right to freely speak your mind. All this , false or not, sensitivity brings us to an impasse of freedoms.
Our American 1st Amendment restricts government from interfering with free speech and by implicit extension our freedom to hear as well. Is it not just as much a censorship to restrict ones freedom to hear a thing as to speak a thing?
The so called woke contend that it’s their right to not hear a thing and therefore some how it’s your responsibility to not speak a thing that offends them. It’s obvious that the so called woke are actually childish authoritarians that want to control your free speech by their freedom to not hear – just another devious way for them to violate your rights under the 1st Amendment to our Constitution.
Might I suggest use of the word LIBERTY to both freely speak and to freely not listen in hopes that they can understand their right to not listen is always an option in a truly free society. The wokes right to not hear a thing can’t be used to restrict the right of others to speak their truth whatever that might be – at least not in a free society.
