Putin might be sowing seeds of division.
Speaking of Strange Trendy elites reminds me of the elites in the Roaring 20s like Woodrow Wilson, and Margaret Sanger, who had some odd ideas about the World, many the same as today - particularly about eugenics and population control. That group presided over the destruction of the economy in a very similar fashion as is happening today.
If we are lucky, Republicans like Reagan will preside over the recovery. Trump may be such a man.
Democrat elites like FDR prolonged the recovery from the Great Depression from a natural recovery of a few years to about 15 years, by the equivalent of what Obama called Quantitative Easing. Obama, encouraged by elites like Gates, Soros, Schwab, Bezos and Zuckerberg, tried to government spend the way out of recession also, with much bigger numbers, which resulted in the worst US economic performance in history.
Anyone who is honest with themselves are aware of the truth in this. Only those completely ignorant of the history of the Democrat Party, and utterly deluded by fear or hopeless idealism could possible believe otherwise.

Good analysis. But I don't place any trust in the Republican insiders like McConnell or McCarthy. They're under the control of foreign donors and care nothing about the people they allegedly represent.
@FuzzyMarineVet I agree that there are those who claim to be Republicans, who have not taken seriously the origins of the Republican Party, the party established to defend and protect the US Constitution.
The Constitution limits government, so anyone genuinely pledging its defense philosophically can not be interested in power.
