The youth culture that came to dominate Western societies in the 60s reflects the instability of adolescence. In terms of fitness it correlates with the natural fast lifestyle adapted for easy but unstable environments. Civilization requires a harsh stable environment that is repugnant to our current elites. For whatever reason the gregarious, open, creative types seem to be in control. They are naturally drawn to diversity, equity and inclusion because they are generally low in conscientiousness. It's important to never confuse sociability with pro sociality. Politicians, artists, media personalities, social butterflies, etc. are likely to belong to this personality group and hold adolescent values. Consciousness conservative types prefer an adult slow stable lifestyle.
The youth culture needs to be broken and adults need to be back in charge. Usually that requires a catastrophic event because we are all inclined towards a fast lifestyle to one degree or the other. Nobody actually prefers a harsh stable environment. Religion has traditionally made a slow lifestyle more palatable. It bridges the gap between natural physical reality and the abstract civilized reality. Nothing else seems to have that ability for the majority of people. Pseudo religions such as wokeness or communist religions such as the goddess of reason try but are generally short lived. Certainly humanism isn't much better at helping with adaptation.
The final point to consider is that determinism has become the dominant philosophy. It is oddly compatible with the youth culture because adolescents tend to act on feelings or instinct. Freewill, at least of the kind relevant to politics, requires maturity. Not maturity as commonly understood but the kind that comes from experience or knowledge. You have to know the choices and consequences to be free to choose the appropriate ones. That's why otherwise intelligent people caught up in a youth culture may appear stupid to a conscientious person. By definition feelings or instincts are not a choice and cannot be reasoned with.

I don't think not going to mass is going to sit well with some Christians. Civil disobedience would be better and also more inclusive. Withhold your Federal income taxes until the IRS is reduced in size by 87,000 agents.

"Civil" rights are by recent definition those rights as related to race and our society has not been "civil" for so long, perhaps "civil" is both a hijacked and foreign term.
Until we get the support of the majority of priests, we must have mass protests and mass non-compliance. Just thinking outloud
