Yes, Abbot should step in and clean up the city. He threatened to do a couple of years ago when the TWOT mayor was letting the trash run the streets and Uni area. But, he never stepped in. As to affecting how the Uni is run, this is like Harvard. The board and trustees run things. If they are a bunch of trash then the Uni will continue to go that way. I'm always getting requests for funds as an alumni. I tell them to either change or bugger off.

If I were governor, I would liquidate the university. Private universities will buy up UT Austin territory and set up shop. Offer texas students vouchers to private universities in Texas. There will still be students around.
It's about privilege. UT Austin and Disney received privilege from government that they should not receive. They used Republican tax dollars to attack Republicans. Take away the privilege. Deny them the tax dollars. Make a world where no one has privileges from government. Let the economy roll on its own.
Leftism doesn't work if it doesn't have government money.
