American system of politics sucks as it gets progressively worse. This is not a bug, its a feature. Same is in any other country it has been exported to. Which means that US is now just as fucked as any other western country who uses system of republic. And US voters just like UK or French or German voters are stuck with no real choice, just bad and worse. Also Trump is still officially the worse judge of character in history of politics. Apparently he only knows how to endorse backstabbers.

I believe it is nothing short of a miracle that the Nation itself (USA) has lasted this long - approximately 240 years.
There is nothing at all wrong with the model governance known as a "Representative Republic". As for all possible or known models or philosophies of governance I believe ours is "the least worst of all".
It certainly can't be denied that USA has been the most successful of all throughout history. Success of course not necessarily measured by its longevity but in its positive influence on all other Nations and Cultures. Even if we try to measure that as a ratio of positive over negative (we have had our failures as well) effects in the history of our Nations global niche - the positive by far wins out overall.
I also believe that of all of our institutions Government is the most immediate - the most present in our day to day lives.
Being such that it is it must be acknowledged that as we humans are frail and prone to corruption ergo our Body Politic is likewise corruptible. How could it be any other way.
So now it seems we are living in the period of what I will call "the beginning of the end" of The United States of America.
What rises in its place is unknowable and I cannot imagine that it could begin to be anything good as compared to the life of personal liberty and wealth we have enjoyed from the end of WWII.
I feel very very lucky to have been born in the middle of the 20th Century (1951) and up to now - 2022.
