Yet another reason NOT to worship the uniforms and those who wear them. Also, this video shows corruption among numerous cops involved in this case, as it is with most any case of police corruption so the whole "It's just one bad apple..." BS needs to be stowed and never taken out again. It's a misuse of the analogy any way.

The Marxists and social justice crew delight in constantly pointing out corruption, but always fall short on suggesting solutions.
We can and must expose and root out corrupt individuals within our institutions; but the west is destroying itself in its masochistic obsession with its own shortcomings.

While I agree cops should not be worshiped, they do deserve some respect as being representative of societal authority. Worship implies that they should never be held as failures in their duty. It removes any assertion they can be held to account for contraventions of the law. They must live under the law as well. I think also, due to the nature of the job and the pressure they live under they should be given some leeway in exercising their authority. Perhaps though, crooked cops could be dealt a harsher hand than the general public because they are not only crooked but have also committed the crime of betraying their oath to serve and protect. It also puts a dent in the public's view of police.
It used to be that only criminals hated the police. Not so true any more.

I agree that they should be presumed to have honor until they prove themselves unworthy of that honor and that their punishment when they betray this trust should be severe. (To whom much is given, much shall be required)
I believe their punishment is frequently terrifying when they commit crimes, in that a simple short prison sentence could easily turn into a death sentence or one of constant torture when they show up in gen pop at a prison where some of the criminals they have sent to prison reside.
I don’t think it is only one or two cops that are corrupt, but I believe the vast majority are good people seeking to do a good job at an important and honorable profession, (much like the military in nearly every sense).
