You should be aware of, at least I hope you are, how corrupt the politicians in Ukraine are. Of course they wish to ally with the west, the US has invested billions of dollars in Ukraine and we get the story here that the American media wants to tell. The people of Ukraine have been told to make Russian supporters second hand citizens. The 2014 election was contested and the democratically '"elected" leader was thrown out of office and replaced with one that was sympathetic to the west. Say what you will but it is likely the US had a hand in that. If not, corrupt politicians and oligarchs who benefited from the USAID acted to overthrow the government and replace it with western friendly politicians. They weren't about to turn off the spigot from the US and they wouldn't have gotten billions of dollars from Russia.
Do you think the Ukrainian people are aware of the corruption in their country. Americans weren't even allowed to hear anything about the US involvement in kickbacks to family members of some American politicians. Think the Bidens, the Kerrys, the Pelosi's. We were not even privy to the fact there were biolabs in Ukraine. George Soros also had a hand in hiding the corruption over there.

But if all of a sudden you now trust the Democrats and the media to tell us the truth....well...what can I say! I'm awestruck! They've even got Fox news chanting "Russia, Russia, Russia".

I do not trust the democrats or the media at all. I go with what all media is telling me and then with what the few Ukrainians and Russians I know personally tell me and then apply the best logic my brain allows.

There appears to be a big difference in understanding of that happened in 2014.
You appear to believe that Ukrainian majority wanted to align with Russia and the government elect followed that path. America then Intervened and supported Euromaiden protests.

My Ukrainian friends tell no,, the Ukrainian people wanted to align with the west and the Ukrainian parliament votes that and at the last moment Putin threatened the Ukrainian leader to change to Russia against Ukrainian people and parliament decisions.

They claim Euromaiden was reaction to this undemocratic move by Ukrainian leader and he was kicked out.
It was Russian interference that started this in first place.

Now who is right? All the Ukrainians I know wants to align with west since 2008 at least… however I only know few Ukrainians.
However, looking at now the Ukrainians are fighting back against Russia, and it is not just tiny azov battalion… it is Ukrainian volunteers everywhere… I am struggling to believe the Russian version of this story.

Clearly there was always a threat from Russia. And I agree that the majority of the Ukrainian people wished to align with the West and always have since the collapse of the USSR not just since 2008. The West was their hope of freedom, democracy and capitalism. And yes, I think the US intervened and supported the Euromaidan protests. They came, they saw, He didn't die but they ousted Yanukovich. (To paraphrase a Clinton remark on the success of an orchestrated regime change in a north African nation.)

I'm saying they are in for a big surprise when you look at what is happening today in the west. We are under the threat of national sovereignty being usurped by globalists and centralizing power under a World government. Essentially, it is under siege from communists.

Is it the Russian version that the US invested billions of dollars in Ukraine? That there was corruption in Ukraine involving politicians and billionaires, like Kolomoisky, in Ukraine? Did Biden not threaten to withhold a billion dollars in 2014 unless a certain investigative lawyer was fired? Was it the Russian version that speaking Russian was not allowed? Was it the Russian version that the Azov battalion was bombarding the donbas region from 2014 to the present and that Donetsk and Luhansk had voted to become independent states from Ukraine? Was any of that the Russian version?

A letter was written and delivered to the Canadian government form its Russian Ambassador. It stated that Russia wished to purge Ukraine of Neo-Nazis in Ukraine that were harassing and murdering Russians living in Ukraine. That I understand is the Russian version. I'm not saying that it is Putin's true objective or everything that Putin wants to accomplish in Ukraine. After all, he is a Dictator and they tend to not be entirely truthful.

Even now the US wants to send $60 billion more dollars to Ukraine. That's on top of about $14 billion they already sent. I think it was around 8 weeks ago. That will provide for a lot of military equipment and ammunition that will be left to Putin when the US is forced to withdraw from Ukraine. That may not be what happens but it has to be considered a possibility, especially after the Afghan fiasco.

Anyway, this is just my view. Not to trust anything the Democrats or MSM say. What we hear coming out of Ukraine in western media, European and North American, can be more or less discounted.
Even interviews with Ukrainian refugees. They will only show interviews that highlight their narrative of evil Putin and his guilt of war crimes.

I may be totally out in left field in my view on this. But if I discount the western media and the Biden administration I only have this view left.

Ukraine is being used as cannon fodder for the West's proxy war. It's a shame and sad. The Batic States, which are NATO members are bracing themselves and if Putin makes any moves there it is WWlll!
