We see Russia being pushed into acting in Ukraine. We see the USA putting troops on higher alert. Rumors of USA embassy staff families leaving Ukraine. NATO ready to activate its treaty obligations? Ukraine is not a NATO member? (but lets not bother about that, Any excuse for a War) This is not Afghanistan or Vietnam or ISIS. This is NUCLEAR armed Russia. The shadowy masters of the USA may find that Russia can hit back. A little blood lost by these cowards who plan but never fight would be nice to see.

can someone articulate the strategic value of Ukraine? Ukraine is infamous for its corrupt government. I am wondering if Russia invades Ukraine is there real concern they will then turn toward Turkey? I believe Turkey has "warm water" ports which I have read that Russia has always coveted that particular feature of Turkey. Is this true?

Airpower and mechanized ground forces are the basic tools of a conventional war. Ukraine is a great physical barrier to ground forces attacking across Ukraine into Russia. Mountainous terrain makes it difficult to advance armor but if you occupy Ukraine its border with Russia is ideal. Russia was happy so long as Ukraine remained neutral but NATO wants in at the USA's request. Not going to happen.
I think Putin is likely too rational to use nukes first. I can't say the same for the US Maladministration.
