In 2012, members of Congress voted to police themselves by passing the STOCK Act, a bill that prevented members of Congress from doing insider trading. That was admirable, but there are still plenty of ways to get around the new law. Man that got my blood boiling when she avoided the question of insider trading by deflecting to a reference about it being a free market. It seems a tactic of the left to just say something nonsensical when asked a question. It flabbergasts the person asking the question unless they are really quick on their feet. Most journalists aren't because they are looking for a gotcha question or a story to formulate. These nonsensical diversions can throw people off and Pelosi wanted to avoid anything about insider trading altogether. It's a free market but there are regulations about insider trading.
