If a district becomes more than 60% Democrat, then Republicans should vote in the Democrat primary.
The Buckley Rule for Republican primaries: Choose the most rightward candidate that can win the general election. Do not go further right.
The Bernie Rule for Democrat primaries: Chose the most leftward candidate. Ignore Republicans. Democrats can rig elections and Democrats need never fear losing a general election again. Whoever wins the Democrat primary will win the general election.
Gabbard Rule for Republicans: Republicans should ditch the Republican primary and vote in the Democrat primary, and vote for the least leftward candidate that can win the primary.

Even if Democrats own the federal government, Republicans can still be a nuisance.
Democrats created a power vacuum, and nature abhors a power vacuum. Nature tends to restore balance to the force. For example, earthquakes.
The force is out of balance. A political earthquake is inevitable, and the earthquake will launch a red tsunami. The Democrat castle is made of sand and will be wiped out by the tsunami.

She says that the divide between left and right is a red herring, and that the real divide is between the powerful and the powerless. She says that both parties are dominated by the powerful.
She says that the president should not be overpartison, and that that the president should stand for all of America.
She invokes the spirit of Martin King, in placing a person's character above his race.
She criticizes politicians for fostering the left-right divide.
She calls on Republicans and Democrats to work together.
She quotes Eisenhower: "The American mind is at its best as both liberal and conservative".
Republicans should coax Williamson to the Republican side. This only works if the Republican party has quality control and expels bad Republicans.
The Democratic party has no quality control. Sting them for it.

Moderate Democrats will wake up in horror over how far the left has gone, and they will seek asylum with the Republican party.

Exactly. I've been promoting this strategy for years, but Republican central committee members find that idea immoral. Therefore, our communities and states continue to be pulled further to the left. In Oregon (back when I was even younger than you) both US Senate seats were occupied by leftist Republicans who were never challenged by Democrat candidates, since th Democrats had what they wanted and the Republicans couldn't unseat entrenched incumbents due to Democrat votes.

@jaymaron Beautiful state with very good people, but Portland dominates. My family has businesses there, but they never go into the city. It's really as awful as alternative media says. With Idaho license plates, I take long routes to avoid the metro area because of the real risk of violence. When I lived in Portland, it was safe for a woman to walk alone at any hour. I wouldn't want my husband to walk there, now.
Jay, politics of Oregon cities is driven by a desire to be seen as outrageous. It started in the 1980s with the election of Bud Clark as mayor of Portland. His famous Expose Yourself To Art campaign, in which he posed as an exhibitionist in a trench coat, was a hip departure from the hat, coat, and gloves mafiosi culture. It was a wonderful break, but became a truck barreling downhill with the brake lines cut. The other cities took it as a challenge to be edgier than Portland. Now the naked bike race through the city and the smell of pee is institutionalized. It is a psych ward without walls. Guys walk around the park blocks screaming about having PMS. That's the endgame of inclusion. Eeegad.
I wish the sane counties could split from the Willamette Valley corridor, but the Oregon Legislature will never approve it. They would lose Congressional seats, taxes, and public lands. Etcetera.
