Obviously these people don't understand they can be replaced with immigrants.
The professional class especially the managerial class has long been isolated from practical realities. Decades of easy money from corporatism and globalism along with class isolation has destroyed the social fabric. What we are seeing is a return to historical norms.
The economic boom that followed WWII moved many in the working class into middle class incomes. And yes unions helped create this new middle class. A house in the suburbs and two cars along with the ability to send kids to college created a kind of golden age but the kids rebeled and demographics created a youth culture of irresponsibly. All those midwits kids that went to college and are now managers were never properly socialized. The large middle class that made for a golden age is now socially isolated and disconnected from the harsh reality of working class life. The French petite nobility similarly Isolated themselves and produced the French Revolution.
