Does the individual exist for the sake of society or society exist for the sake of the individual?
The main characteristic of collectivism is that it does not take notice of the individual's will and moral self-determination. In the light of its philosophy the individual is born into a collective and it is "natural" and proper for him to behave as members of this collective are expected to behave. Expected by whom? Of course, by those individuals to whom, by the mysterious decrees of some mysterious agency, the task of determining the collective will and directing the actions of the collective has been entrusted. - Ludwig Von Mises
This collective ideal capturing our society today is multiculturalism which is thinly veiled cultural-marxism. Its tools are political correctness, identitarianism, critical theory and its evil corrupting offspring CRT (racism), critical social injustice, radical feminism, transgenderism, etc. and its goal is the destruction of western civilization.
George Orwell’s dystopian future depicted in 1984 has already arrived and continues Gramsci's destructive 'long march through culture'. Orwell wrote: “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, and every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
Orwell also noted, “the whole aim of Newspeak and Doublethink is to narrow the range of thought.” Political correctness has the same goal and that’s why its adherents are so intolerant — seeking to shut down and silence people with whom they disagree on college campuses across the country, clamoring for removal of historic statues and monuments, and demanding that people with differing views on such subjects as climate change and LGBT rights be silenced, fined or arrested.
Since the 60s a pattern has been emerging in the U.S. with similarities to the longstanding standard practices in Communist and Fascist totalitarian states — that is: to rewrite history and indoctrinate the youth so as to be able to manipulate and control the future cultural and political landscape.
Collectivism only serves the greater good of the elite ruling class not humanity.
