ESG's Are the Reason for Woke Corporate Interests

"In many respects, this misplaced investment gets to a still more fundamental failing of China’s system. Because the economy is centrally planned and controlled, it misses the kind of diversified economic experimentation available to more market-driven economies. In less centrally directed economies, thousands of private firms and individuals pursue any number of new ideas and projects. Many of these ventures fail and leave a legacy of debt and waste, but because the effort is diversified, that waste and debt pales next to the returns on those projects that succeed. On balance, the economy gains.

But in a centrally planned arrangement, the direction of such effort is much less diversified. On the contrary, it concentrates massively on a few favored efforts. When an economy’s needs are obvious, as in the early stages of development, the growth returns to such massive efforts can be impressive to say the least. But as development has made future directions less obvious, as in China today, the central authority has more difficulty picking its investment projects, and when it makes a mistake, as China’s clearly has, the waste and debt can become truly oppressive. China has only just begun to face this problem."

What Communism tries to do is eliminate the possibility of failure, but by doing that they institutionalize failure.

That’s one of the reasons that I’m really irritated about the postmodernists. Because they keep yammering about “the Patriarchy” and it’s very very annoying because it’s self-evident that social structures are tyrannical. That’s not news... that’s obvious. But that’s not all they are. It’s the reduction of the entire complex solution, let’s say, to a unidimensional problem... No, actually, it’s not just tyranny. If you spent six months somewhere that was just tyranny, you would know the difference very rapidly.
