Question

I have a genuine question that I thought might get some good responses here:

I had a conversation with a friend tonight and it got fairly heated, he was going on about getting vaccinated and how he felt more safe ext. I was asking him about how he felt threatened by COVID gven the statistic and such and he spouted the MSM (often incorrect and unscientific) talking points such as the necessity for vaccines even for those who had and recovered from the virus. What struck me was his total emphatic reliance on the MSM and his complete dismissal and adamant denial of alternative ideas or questioning the status quo. There is simply no amount of evidence or alternative source of information that would change his mind.

So here is my question; if the internet had been invented in the 30's what effect do you think it might have had on world events such as the rise of Nazi's and the holocaust?

The discussion today might not have happened if the Internet did not provide the ability to find alternative news and information as we could only rely on the MSM?

The Nazi's got control of the media used at the time and controlled it. Big Tech is doing the same today. What you need is truth. Those who speak it need to be protected. The Assanges, Snowdens and may others.

Having the Internet now hasn’t helped the people in North Korea. Most of them don’t even know it exists.

Can you imagine Hitler on Twitter? Oh wait...that's what the Left thought about Trump.

Anyway...the internet would have been subjected to a greater degree of govt control. Is that worse than the capricious cancel culture we see today? Hard to say, but I don't think people would have felt as free to speak as they do today. Given that the internet is a massive cesspool of misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda, one can only guess what its effect might have been back then.

The Nazi's (socialists) and Fascists would have done exactly what the psychotic governments of the world are doing today -
Censor, silence, ban or disappear any open inquiry of the facts;
Take over ALL approved sources of information;
Burn books (cancel independent researchers of integrity and independent source); and
continue on their evil path until they are crushed by opposing forces.

Maybe this time, the so-called "good guys" really will be "good guys" or Anarchists in the proper sense of the word.
