Pat Tillman
It's Pat Tillman, the Arizona Cardinals player who gave up his NFL career to serve in Afghanistan.
He was ultimately killed by "friendly fire," which there is some indication that he was intentionally murdered at point-blank range, for which the government attempted to cover up and paint him as a national hero who was killed by enemy fire.
Or in other words, WRW is again poking fun at the entire concept of Memorial Day, expecting people to blindly like his post.
After 9/11 he gave up an all-pro football career, joined the Army, qualified as a Ranger, and deployed to Afghanistan. He was killed in a firefight there, it was almost certainly friendly fire in a confusing night battle.
Pat Tillman was and is a hero. He could have stayed in the NFL and made patriotic gestures. Instead he put his body on the line. May his memory be a blessing.
Yes, he did all that and quickly turned against the war. And you know what happened next.
