I would say it only address the problem, the unfortunate part is the we are at the point where the only thing that will fix this is to wait for it to collapses in on it self. the system is broke and will fail and many people will suffer because of the greed of a few.

I don't want to be a killjoy here but I have yet to meet a conservative that likes regulation. Perhaps worse I haven't meet many that will admit that morality applies to free markets. If you make anything free enough random chance and the Pareto principle means that everything will end up owned by one player as in monopoly. It's why capitalist systems have to constantly be reset. Whatever game you want to play it has to reset periodically or it become unplayable. The fact that there are cheaters almost a side issue.

People will not play a game they repeatedly lose. Jordan Peterson's answer is many reiterative games and many reiterative competency hierarchies. Inheritance tax being an example of a game rule that tries to prevent nepotism.

I think the problem is in who does the regulation. Ideally it would be God but experience shows that is not going to happen. It's left to us mortals to stumble through self regulation. What we call morality. Bankersterism of the type that say Mitt Romney engaged in is clearly immoral so is the type of corporatism that the Bushes promoted. Now the Democrats are in an immoral relationship with corporate media, big tech, and the Banksters. Voluntary compliance with moral standards is what makes capitalism work. It has to be self regulating. Nobody knows how to make that happen.

@wolfhnd I have not met anyone that likes regulation that pertains to them or what they do, even if they already do things according to the mandates of the regulation. the problem is that most regulators do not work or understand the regulations and are therefore able to be used to manipulate regulations to favour certain business. For example company A buys trees that have been cut to clear forest access roads in national parks and uses them to manufacture wooden poles for domestic and foreign use. Company B wants to cause trouble for company A so they lobby congress to make a rule that wood harvested form national forest can not be exported this sound good so the congress passes the law. now company A has to find a new buyer for existing inventory that came from national forest and new produce to sell to overseas customers. meanwhile company B starts a new plant that uses trees grown on privet land to sell to foreign markets. things like this happen all the time in the world of big business the problem is that these regulations effect everyone even the small business so now the guy making redwood doors and shipping them to Japan can no longer sell his door to his main market in Japan and has to layoff workers an tell his best customers that he can no longer supply them with his product. large corporations are are continually looking for ways to benefit their interest by changing regulation if you have million or billions this is just a game if you are a small business this is your worst night mare.

Yes that is right and is what has been labeled corporatism.

The same thing can happen even with the best of intentions in a free market. Nobody knows how to address these problems. The great reset is ironically a reasonable idea if the intention was to restart the game. Unfortunately it looks like a naive attempt to end the game.

Every game depends on voluntary compliance with the rules. The last election shows why you can't have one player setting the rules. The rules have to be negotiated or you risk violent confrontation. Fences and troops can't protect cheaters.
