Well it is working with the native population of Europe voluntarily.

@wolfhnd Well, it isn't going to amount to billions which is what they feel they need. People are being denied the right to make a living by having small businesses crushed. We're going to see the aftermath of lockdowns and people are going to get desperate. Food supply chains are going to be disrupted. The desperation will result in chaos and the people themselves will be blamed. Then, of course, government will have to use force to restore order.
This is the worst scenario I can envision. The best is that sanity is restored to western civilization and the Chinese people rise up and overthrow the CCP. But I think there are too many people who agree there are too many people in the world. There aren't if we manage resources properly but that's a matter of economics of which all politicians should have an understanding. MMT is just going to be another nail in the coffin for individual liberty. People don't realize the level of ethics and morality necessary to sustain a free society with a free market that will build abundance. Trust and confidence in others is necessary. Secrecy and corruption is what we are getting from governments we don't feel we can trust and they hold a disdain for the general populace. This can't continue.

It's the urgency that I object to most. It often means you end up going from crisis to crisis without solving any of them.

@wolfhnd Right. They are making it a crisis that needs to be dealt with sooner than now. Depopulation will solve all planetary problems - pollution, resource depletion, insustainability, ecological destruction, climate change, cultural differences, racism, etc.

Crisis mode guarantees an excess of unforseen consequences. That said you can obviously move to slowly. Patton, Sherman and other generals come to mind. A wait and see attitude can be costly. It comes down to taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. For example using the pandemic to instigate the great reset. But an army runs on it's stomach. Logistics make or break armies. Patton ran out of fuel Sherman just about everything. You can't move faster than your weakest link. We seem to be being lead by people with little logistical skill who refuse to consult the logistical experts who are almost exclusively conservative.

I'm not ignoring the moral issues I'm simply focusing on competence to illustrate why the best of intentions can be the road to hell.

If the intent were to preserve the extant western civilization then I'm sure there would be a prudent consideration of logisitics. There is little to no consultation as regards logistics and the crises seem contrived so the social structure appears to be the target, presumably to "build back better" but I think we can assume it is to break down national internal resistance to the real objective.

I am not sure how western political leaders are reconciling abandonment of their prime responsibility of national interests and sovereignty with the centralization of global powers. I suppose most feel they will have a place at the table when that objective is realized. They are deluded if they think that.
