@bastion Yeah it must be really difficult and painful, but the symbol of the Confederate flag, was the War Flag of the Confederate Army just before its defeat. Its not either a national or State flag it has no other function or identity historically but was co-opted by the KKK and white supremacists in the 20th century, I think that is why nobody here will answer the question.

@N0DD yeah, they like the KKK and all white supremacists but are shy about admitting it, so they just pretend these people don't exist, seems to be the tactic - won't say racists are good, just pretend they aren't racist. very cowardly.

also the failure - very sad about their constant failures.

the fact the trump brand was so tied up in "winning" means these losses are extra hard for them, four years of dog-brained steve crowder posing with an AR-15 and drinking "liberal tears" and now it's them that are crying they are very confused.

So many soldiers in the capitol now it's more than Iraq and Iran combined - so it'll probably dissuade their chubby larpy militias from trying anything now.

I am not offended by the flag - if my family had been in this country at the time, I would hope, based on their opinions when I was growing up, they would have faught for the North and opposed slavery. I know they are not racist, neither am I. I'm glad slavery ended. I think the Civil War was a nightmare for both sides, for different reasons. I think Lincoln violated the Constitution and it's spirit when he went after the Secession States. I think they were fighting not just for slavery of which only a very small minority owned slaves, but for the way of life. They were fighting for the freedom the Constitution supposedly protected.

That said, I'm glad Lincoln did what he did. It was important to VIOLATE the Constitution in order to same the COUNTRY. My parents came to this country in the late 1950s. We have no dog in the issues surrounding the Civil War. Like I said, I believe we would have fought on the side of the North. I certainly would have. I joined the Air Force and served because I thought it was important to do so - a way to honor this Country's acceptance of my family.

If the flag offends you, turn away. The Antifa flag, the organization it represents, like the BLM flag and organizations, are disgusting and offensive to the sensibilities of anyone that believes in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. One is anti-individual liberty, the other is racist.

So, to @bastion and yourself: many of us understand the culture then and as it exists now. I can at least understand the Left's opinions and positions even when I disagree with them. From your comments, I don't think that you can exhibit the same ability....

@bastion More often than not, the same people 'offended' by the Confederate Flag are the same people that will not 'pledge allegiance to a piece of cloth'....
