As far as alternatives to big tech go, it's going to be a rough transition to make phones apart from big tech. I'm all for breaking up the monopolies, and giving people freedom from the prepackaged current choices.
I've seen articles about Gab having a phone in the works? If they partner up with Parler, Gab, Rumble, etc, they may have a pretty good start.
I'm not sure how popular a new, less refined model of phone would do competing against Andoid and Apple who have been perfecting their game. I'd be willing to buy one, though. Gotta start somewhere.
