Trump does not call them "fake news" any more. Now he calls them "corrupt news". Much more descriptive of them.

Not prophetic. There has been Fake News for a long time (check coverage of Egypt/Jan25 and painting the Muslim Brotherhood in a positive light as examples) but it got intensified as Trump announced he's running for President.

One more example of why I have deep concerns about what technology has done to us. Trump's favorite battle cry was used to condemn a media that played fast and loose with the facts. The example your're citing here, if indeed it's true, represents a far greater threat. The ability to manufacture literally artificial news is the stuff of science fiction psycho-thrillers.

@coalburned the article makes clear it’s an example of what AI can do, put together by a mainstream company as a demonstration. And it isn’t the best, since it uses an actress — a poor imitation — to overdub the video. The best deep fakes, like the Obama video, uses the subject’s actual voice samples which are reassembled by the AI.
It was already broadcast earlier today.

It's the lack of evidence to back up the cries of "Fake News" and the willingness of the gullible to accept the word of the world's most famous liar that "woke lefties"(also known as the general public) find entertaining to watch.

There’s plenty of evidence of fake news from Rolling Stone’s fake rape stories to Russiagate to the Covington Kids to Jussie Smollett.
The news, even when factual, is presented like coverage of a Super Bowl game, where the lefty do-gooders are pitted against the evil right.
