I just read an article by Dr Atlas advisor to Donald Trump. No wonder he was at sixes and sevens on Coronavirus.

Scott William Atlas (born July 5, 1955)[1][2] is an American professor of neuroradiology, political commentator, and health care policy advisor. He is a senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, a conservative think tank.

Atlas was selected by President Donald Trump in August 2020 to serve as an advisor on the White House Coronavirus Task Force. In that role, Atlas spread misinformation about COVID-19, including fringe theories that face masks and social distancing were not effective in slowing the spread of the coronavirus.
His statements and influence on policies caused controversy on the task force. Contrary to the recommendations of most of the scientific community, Atlas pushed for establishing herd immunity and a faster reopening of schools and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He advocated that states should not engage in universal testing, and encouraged residents to resist or "rise up" against state restrictions adopted to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Atlas resigned from his position in the White House on November 30, 2020.

Not soon enough...

Here in Australia Victoria and Melbourne are prime examples of how wrong this guys medical advice was.

Did Scott Atlas misinform the President?

US President Donald Trump's controversial special adviser on the coronavirus, Scott Atlas, has resigned.

Thanking Mr Trump for the honour of serving the American people, Dr Atlas said he had "always relied on the latest science and evidence without any political consideration or influence".

During his four months in the role, Dr Atlas questioned the need for masks and other measures to control the pandemic.

He also repeatedly clashed with other members of the coronavirus task force.

The radiologist and senior fellow at Stanford University's conservative Hoover Institution joined the task force in August. As well as questioning the usefulness of masks he was against lockdowns and supported herd immunity as a strategy to deal with the outbreak.

Incidentally, Victoria didn't take Dr Atlas's advice. Everything that happened there is on Dan Andrews ( who sold his state out by being part of the Strong Cities Network and the Belts and Roads Initiative)

You should try reading what I actually wrote that might help.

@Lightman I could point out how you're wrong, but you'd just get mad and tell me to bugger off like last time

@Tom81 got nothing as usual I see... stop wasting my time then eh

@Lightman sure, I'll stop bothering you so you can go back to your 'great many sources' that most Australians call TV👍 (try not to get too confused by the whole 5 channels of news we have).

Doesn't the fact you can't read and your an idiot bother you.
I never said Victoria followed Atlas's advice in fact I said the opposite.
Let's discuss the disease... after failed quarantine and a massive outbreak after social distancing wearing masks and lockdowns etc Victoria is now VIRUS FREE. Right? Hellooooo??????

@Lightman vic does have cases. Maybe you could check one of your 'many great sources'. And they've had piss poor management. Suicides went up drastically (but I guess that's a win by your accounts because they didn't die of covid), bankruptcies, people loosing livelihoods and homes... And this after the UN said that lockdowns don't work. Keep getting mad though, because we're not all under house arrest.

@Tom81 oh dear yep o/s quarantine cases ... how many? hmmmm.... for all intents and purposes they have been virus infection free for ages now considering where they were before most deaths of any Australian state etc... the things they did to control and limit the virus worked... keep denying it all you like I'm used to listening to fools like you.

Just today VIC has 3 new cases 2 international returns and a girl who was visiting the new NSW hotspot, you are such a disingenuous prick. How many days previously has Vic gone without a single new case? hmmmmm?

This was the latest from the DHHS
Yesterday there were 0 new local cases and no lives lost. 1 new case was acquired interstate, 2 international - these cases are in quarantine. NOTE THE SOURCE 🙂

Gee I wonder what country I'd prefer to be living in right now and under what rules?

@Tom81 Oh and as for the suicide rate lie.... We all know your source Conspiranut central.
No spike in suicide rates in Victoria during COVID-19 lockdowns, coroners court figures show... Check it out yourself .

@Lightman shouldn't you be out panick buying toilet paper now? Or packing your bags for Victoria, the model city for lockdowns? Currently 11 cases in vic. I don't care if it were 100. Lockdowns aren't the answer.

[twitter.com]

You're understanding couldn't fill a pamphlet. Go hide in your basement while the rest of us try to live our lives.

@Tom81 Dear Conspiranut... I've never hoarded toilet paper. FAIL!!!!
LOL current cases 3... 2 are from O/S. You provide as usual no official proof. Got my information from the same place... but not twitter
Lockdowns no matter how painful obviously were the answer. I note Andrews is still very popular in VIC regardless.
Twitter????? Only Twits use Twitter.
My understanding... you'd be clueless about so trying to insult me is just a waste of my time.
Happy to concede that today there are 11 active cases... my point however badly expressed was that there are no outbreaks and no community transference hence the virus is virtually eradicated in Victoria. something you keep denying.
From Dhhs seems we use the same source... you know the one you keep trying to ridicule me about.
What's new?

Victoria has recorded one new case acquired interstate and two new internationally acquired cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.
The new positive case had recently visited several exposure sites in the Northern Beaches area of New South Wales.
All Victorian close contacts of the case have been interviewed and the Department of Health and Human Services is following up with any secondary close contacts. Rapid testing for the close contacts is underway.
All primary close contacts will quarantine for 14 days and will retest on day 11. There are no known exposure sites at this point, however we will update the community if that changes.

This is the 53rd consecutive day where Victoria has recorded no new community transmission cases.

The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported in Victoria is now 20,360 including those in hotel quarantine.

Today’s 14-day average case number for metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria is zero.

There were no new deaths and the state’s death toll stands at 820.

The total number of cases from an unknown source in the last 14 days is zero for metropolitan Melbourne and zero for regional Victoria. 3,762 cases may indicate community transmission (no change since yesterday’s report).
There are 11 active cases in Victoria. 19,524 people have recovered.
A total of 3,776,979 test results have been received. This is an increase of 15,521 since yesterday.

So would you rather live in Australia, Victoria of the US or California? do you have a breakdown on those active cases you think justifies your opinion? How many are from O/S how many are long term? How many were infected interstate? etc, etc, etc...

@Lightman better take your blood pressure meds before you stroke out in your toilet paper palace, old man. Why don't you just stay in your basement watching 'the panel' until the media declare it's safe to go outside.
Meanwhile, me and the other 'conspiranuts' will enjoy our freedom.
Ironic you call yourself 'lightman' and use a lighthouse profile pic, when the views you express are so fucking dim, they couldn't illuminate the inside of a bar fridge.

@Tom81 LOL such a small mind.... I never watch the Panel moron... obviously you have.
Nah... you need to take off your blinkers and blindfold and then look at the light of reality.

@Lightman you need to take a good hard look in the mirror after you stop beating off to your poster of Dan, comrade

@Tom81 You are such an idiot.... the Dems here think I'm a Deplorable... pull your head out of your proverbial and smell the roses.
I'm not a Dan fan... hate the guy actually... even Gladys is too Progressive for me she needs to dump that idiot Kean just for starters. YOU know nothing Tom boy.
I just don't listen to Conspiranuts...

@Lightman sure, and you know everything. If only everyone knew what you do, we'd all be living in a basement utopia.

@Tom81 You keep making idiotic statements that are based on your ignorance and bias... stop wasting my time.

@Lightman you better stay off the net incase that spreads covid too. Just trust your many sources on tv and stop wasting space with retarded polls on this site

@Tom81 ROTFLMAO you are a joke... got nothing, can't refute anything with facts and are clueless about the people you berate.

@Lightman and that's exactly how I see you

@Tom81 yawn... but the difference is... you are wrong.

@Lightman 🙄 good one. As impressive a come back as 'your great many sources', witty quips about 'conspiranuts' and petty name calling. After you finish your denture friendly microwave dinner for one, and you finish watching The Panel (or maybe the fast paced thrills of cricket), throw me a response. Make sure it's in all caps so I really feel the sting. I know you need to have the last word, so let's see what comedy gold, or scathing critique you come up with.😉

@Tom81 yawn...

Victoria was an absolute cluster fuck and a good example of hypocrisy and authoritarian rule. BLM protests: allowed. Anti lock down protests: smashed by VicPol backshirts. Extinction Rebellion protests: protected by VicPol.
No one will take responsibility for the hotel quarantine fiasco.
We had homeless people being fined for not being at home.
People being intimidated and threatened by police just for putting out their bins past curfew.
And we became an international disgrace after a pregnant woman was arrested, at home in front of her family, for a Facebook post.
As soon as the borders opened, many people (and businesses) have moved out.
Sure, Victoria is such a great example 🙄

Tom81 Level 8 Dec 22, 2020

Rubbish Tom my old conspiranut mate.
Victoria were on the horns of a dilemma and a failed quarantine disaster.
After doing all those things atlas was against they are now virus free.
Aren't they... YES they are.

@Lightman Victoria is a disaster. Period. But since you get your news from trash MSM, you don't know the half of it.

@Tom81 Hey I'm just discussing the disease not the so called "cluster fucks" that everyone knows about...
You don't know me so stop lying about me BTW.
I get my info from a great many sources...

Since when does Trump take any advice from anyone?

Oh dear thanks for that enlightening piece of political and personal bias

My partner was an attorney and hated when people paid her for advice and then did something else. Because of her illness, we had many doctors and we didn't take the advice of some, despite listening to them. I've had 9 drs for most of the last 6 years and I have fired some because their 'advice', expert 'advice' was contrary to others and MY common sense. I am walking and active despite a 10% chance of it and a 50/50 chance of surviving because I listened and THEN did what I thought was right for me.

Trump is no different - he listens and then uses his own judgment. A judgment that has been borne out to be more often than correct than the experts: North Korea, Iran, Paris Accords, media, and of course the 'it would take a miracle to have a vaccine by the end of the year' clusterfuck....

@Lightman Political bias or stating a fact? My post was posed as a question as indicated by the " ? " at the end. Now, given the two options, would you care to answer?
My question was motivated by Trumps inability to take the advice of experts from various fields ranging from Generals to medical experts to scientists, all of which he has publicly declared to "know more about (insert subject here) than the (insert profession here)".
If you'd like to hear him confirming this fact the pleas, take a look here.

@tracycoyle North Korea, Trump gained nothing except adding credibility to the despot ruler there.
Iran, They now have a thriving nuclear weapons grade plutonium factory unrestrained due to the U.S breaking it's word on a multinational deal and tarnishing America's reputation.
Pulling out of the Paris accord and tearing up environmental protection treaties in order to promote the fossil fuel industry, an 18th century power source that the rest of the world is leaving behind and again, reinforcing the fact that America cannot be trusted to keep its word on the world stage.
The vaccine has happened in spite of Trumps denials that this virus would "just go away" or the various other ludicrous solutions he suggested.
Your personal recovery was because you took the advice of SOME doctors. Common sense is not that common.

@maxmaccc You made a statement based on your personal bias nothing more.
You need some facts to back you up.

@Lightman I never post anything that doesn't have facts to back it up. All my claims are easily checkable.
Go ahead, give them a try. Post here any debunk(hard evidence to the contrary) here.

@maxmaccc What facts... you posted your opinion... no proof therefore no facts.

@Lightman You obviously haven't checked my "Opinions" or you would've found facts that contradict them.

@maxmaccc um.... your opinions are wrong then?
Isn't that what I've been saying.
Where is your proof that Trump listens to no-one and takes nobody's advice? hmmmm....
Exactly... you have nothing.

0

Atlas spread misinformation about COVID-19,[5] including fringe theories that face masks and social distancing were not effective in slowing the spread of the coronavirus.[6]

@maxmaccc So what? You are agreeing with me now?

@Lightman A quote from the article.

@maxmaccc So what? You are agreeing with me now?

@Lightman Trump ignored that advice and, as usual came up with his own, because you know, he knows better than anyone else. Bleach and intense light. lol.

@maxmaccc Prove it and while you are at it prove that he ignores every-ones advice and just does what he likes...there are examples disproving that so I think you've lost before you start.

@Lightman Trump and his ever changing view/advice on the virus.

"prove that he ignores everyone's advice and just does what he likes..., Check the "Nobody knows better than me" in this thread.

His claim that bleach and intense light should be tried as a treatment,

Do you pretend not to have seen any of these examples?

You know this for yourself, there are a multitude of examples of him ignoring the advice of the many different experts he claims to know better than.

If there are examples of him taking advice against his own judgment as you claim, prove it as it would be something of a rarity.

@maxmaccc Rubbish it may just be proof of the opposite. It may prove he listens to people and changes his mind due to whomever is advising him at the time.

"If there are examples of him taking advice against his own judgment as you claim, prove it as it would be something of a rarity." Nice strawman I never actually said that now did I.

I asked you...
Where is your proof that Trump listens to no-one and takes nobody's advice? hmmmm....
I actually just said this...
Prove it and while you are at it prove that he ignores every-ones advice and just does what he likes...there are examples disproving that so I think you've lost before you start.

When Trump tried to pull out of a deal with Australia re refugees agreed to by Obama our PM called him argued with him and guess what.... for whatever reason and on whatever advice ... HE CHANGED HIS MIND... just 1 example. There are others.

Re Corona virus...
[bbc.com]
President Trump's attitude towards coronavirus has shifted. He has changed his views on social distancing, willingness to compare Covid-19 to the flu, and message around when the pandemic will end.
Atlas and Fauci were at odds with their advice for him.
Also...
[abc.net.au]

North Korea...
Remember when there was open hostility and ridicule from Trump to the Korean Leader... that changed too. It seems Kim Jong Un himself had influenced the relationship.

The list goes on and on...
