I have a question.

Why would someone who likes someone or something be critical of them? Someone that is critical of you has already passed the point where they dislike you. The same with any group if you are critical of it then you dislike it already. There is a definition of critical that means important or essential that is the one I would think is used in the term "critical thinking". Often being critical means to be negatively judgmental. That haircut looks stupid or those clothes make you look fat.

I used to be quite critical of other drivers but realized I was usually guilty of the same infractions I was criticizing. Failing to signal. Not merging properly. Although, not allowing someone to merge properly is probably more egregious. Or one that really gets me is sitting at a light and turning on a left signal when the light turns green. Now, I don't get upset I am more likely to make a joke about it. Look, a brand new car and his signal light doesn't work already, poor guy. That kind of thing. But the important thing was I didn't have to be negatively judgmental because I am not a perfect driver either. My favorite is if someone cuts in front of me or wants to get ahead I just think, oh, that must be a very important person, places to go people to see or maybe he has an emergency.

There is something called constructive criticism but then that can be likened to harping if someone is constantly criticizing you or worse criticizing others to you.

I get that groups can demand support and an unquestioning or mob mentality where you can wind up doing things that, as an individual, you would not even consider doing. I suppose that is when it is dangerous, when you lose your individuality and can commit destructive acts against others. Individually, people are fairly weak though, so they will find groups with which they may have something in common or seem to have an answer to certain questions. But we all have essential questions about life like 'What is all this?' and we will find something that we can build a worldview around, a concept to make sense of as much of it as possible. Atheists have their answer but they don't have to tear down or be critical of what others believe. Some do and those ones probably adhered to or followed some other religion previously that they are now critical of, thinking that they had fooled them all their life. If they didn't they would probably be fairly passive about them and just let them be.

Politics has become rather cultish, I think, in that it has a tendency to be destructive and that is, in my opinion, an essential part of the definition of what a cult is. I really don't see today white supremacists wreaking havoc but I see Antifa and BLM blaming them, being critical, while they themselves loot and pillage in the streets. The mainstream media seems to be ignoring destructive elements and trying to focus attention away from it by being critical of the right.

I would say if it ticks off everything on the narcissistic abuse list then, it's probably a cult (or there's a purebred narc in the group).

The best defense against this is to use critical thinking, question every thing that you are being taught.
cults use programing to condition there followers and the main stream media is the main source of programing, this includes TV, movies, video games, and Internet groups. Once you have been programed you lose the ability to think for yourself and instead will react to triggers (words, actions, or visual stimuli like MAGA hat). this has been happening for years I first began to notice it clear back in the late 70's. The sitcom was one of the main drivers behind this as the person tends to be more open to suggestion if they are in a good mood. the TV showed you a situation then should you responses to that situation only approved responses achieved good results, in this way you would be programed to respond to a situation with a certain action.

The only thing I disagree with is demonizing a whole group of people. There are plenty of "magas" who are perfectly sane normal folks. But, I do it too. I tend to think that the "left" is batshit crazy so, to each their own.

@MichelleD the maga hat was used as an example of something visual that was used to trigger a response in programmed people there is nothing wrong with the hat or the people that would wear one . The same would go for a swastika you will see the all over India because it is a religious symbol although it will trigger an american tourist that would think of it as a nazi symbol. These people that are triggered by this type of stimuli can not adequately explane their behaviour any more than a person who has been hypnotised. many religious cults use a form of mediation that is much like mass hypnosis the same is true for TV programming that has become a tool of mass hypnosis.

@KeVince ok! 😁

Great video Michelle. Food for thought, and a treat for the eyes (there's something so appealing to the sharpness of black&white).

Reminds me of me when i am in my wicked humors

Reminds me of my home group, ive finally cut ties with.

Kinda reminds me of ptsd and general anxiety disorders.

Kinda makes me think back to childhood and how i have always talked too much.

food for thought.

Especially after the bitterly dark humors ive been in the last couple days.

The most threatening cult on Earth is Islam. It's responsible for more death and destruction than any other cult, including xtianity. The followers are the most backward of all civilizations. Count how many Nobels they've been awarded, even though Nobels have lost all credibility since one was awarded to Obuma, simply because of his colour, not to mention one for terrorist Yasser Arafat. Still, compare the how many have been awarded to Jews, who comprise less than 20 million worldwide as compared to 1.4 billion Muslims.
Enough said.

Radical Islam is like radical Christianity, gets all the attention but doesn't necessarily represent the average person (I'm an atheist, so I'm not defending any groups, because they're all the same to me).
The biggest cult these days is the woke ideology that brainwashes people with post modernism to self destruction

How many nobel prizes have been awarded anyway... your arguement is pretty weak. What is the ratio and are you counting all the generations that have lived since the foundation of the prize?

What 1 in a million jews maybe gets a nobel prize? Probably more like 1 in 10 million if you total the population of the whole century. You can just keep pulling that one arm bandit.

Europe was the bassackward mixed culture 5oo years ago and islam was the center for the arts and sciences, not understanding how us christians could run around without baths for a month at a time and cities knee high in shit, but we were just coming out of the plague and only the clergy and aristocrats could read. Now the ottoman empire has fallen a century back, and the middle east has damn near been under constant bombardment for the last century. In some form or fashion. It takes a toll on a culture.

Its like new yorkers and californians fleeing their locals. Find greener pastures cause those ships are sinking. But its the same as a texan in minnesota, or hawiian in alaska. Odd different culturally different. It is not a red, blue thing. The cultural divides are all over. I noticed things changing qhen a retirement town was built outside my home town, and i started hearing"well thats not how its done where im from" bs.

It is not islam shitting and pissing in the streets of san francisco, la, austin, or san diego. Its americans mostly without access to self grooming resources.

I know plenty of muslims. They are not all as you've portrayed.

@CuriousFury You've got to be kidding! Just about every single achievemnt attributed to Muslims is rubbish. It was the people who endured Muslims conquests of much of Europe who made the scientific discoveried and Muslims adopting them as their own. Islam has contributed absolutely nothing to the betterment of mankind.

@CuriousFury, @MichelleD I never said they're all bad apples. I'm saying their religion is nothing more than a death cult.

@angelo only whats advertized. Dont believe the hype. Its athiest calling themselves muslims and the holy war is older than the bible...

But it is appealing enough for over a billion people to follow .

Something has to be more than murder, but i would be pissed off if huge nations were drone striking funerals in idaho.
