I've been making my daughter read Orwell's 1984 since late August. She's also been relearning early American history because the school taught her wrong. The video below is very validating.

Good luck to your daughter in her battles. These days, (re-)education institutions seem to be the among the worst. These 'teachers' and academics don't realise that they'll be among the first of the 'useful idiots' to go. They really need to sit down and watch the Yuri Bezmenov interviews, and have it spelled out to them.

I don't know if you spelled it right but I know who you're talking about. I made my mother watch those - my way of shaking her awake.
Anne (or Ayn) Rand is great! I like her essays. I can't remember how to spell names either. 
I haven't read anything by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn but I'll look into it.
When my daughter is finished with 1984, she'll be reading Brave New World and doing a comparative essay between the two. That also means I have to teach her what a comparative essay is. (They don't teach shit in schools anymore.) There are more books too. That girl is going to be well read by the time I'm done with her. I'm always open to recommendations though
Best to prepare her for guilt trips (racial and otherwise) aimed at wheedling money and favors out of her.

She already battles the culture war. She's neck deep in it. She became a crusader trying to save her generation from lies and emotional disconnectivity. Wish I had her energy.
She had, at one point, bought the left indoctrination, hook line a sinker and she would come at me like antifa goes after people. She had that guilt you're talking about. She's come a long way.
